Good luck with that meeting today...............I envy you that gumption and go get ya got.............the semester creeps up quick...........January will be here before ya know it...........get at that financial add as quick as ya can.
Much respect for ya..........and too funny about that math..........yeah ya need it.
I thought the same thing about the cc's..........LOL......but yeah ya need it for alot more than that.............that math...........you can do it though.
You'll probably have to do pre-requisites first...........as ya been out of school for quite some time, but it gets ya back in the swing of things.........the whole atmosphere and the study and all that..........plus ya can even take one of them courses on the side even...............like poetry or art history or art appreciation or film class or computers............just to keep ya stimulated.
Let me know how it goes if ya got a chance.........and the Chemistry IS math.....loved bio-chem though............pretty sure if I recall right they'll give ya like an entrance exam and go by that...........I actually chose like the lowest math at get go cause I'm math challenged..........going back to fractions and the like............all that like 8th grade stuff.
LPN? RN....................RN for you!
Thanks for asking Bryn and 4 the support. The meeting went alright. I learned somethings from it. 1st thing being your placement in class DOES depend on your test scores for a "work keys assessments" you MUST have a math level 5 to be accepted. I have no issues with the reading or science i'm scared of that math crap!. Plus there is a test called "TEAS" which you have to pass to be accepted. Before you can start clases you have to have already earned a STNA "state tested nurse assistant" certification. The STNA is only a 2 week course but, it cost $550.00 for course + 90.00 to take the acual test. I'm going to tommorw call around to see if there is a way to get the STNA course paid for or at least some paid on it. The LPN is 44 weeks long full time 72 weeks part time cost $9,980 but, i can get assistance paying for that. The stupid work keys cost 75.00$ non refundable the TEAS is $50.00 also non refundable. You can only test 3 times in one year for work keys, 2 times for TEAS re test fee 20.00$. There is a lot more $ issues then i had planed on. The packet says to allow 8-10 MONTHS for all the testing and course placement. They have a 95% attendence requirment so if you miss to many days you will drop out. It's a one step at a time thing i guess. I can't see me getting in now untill April 08 small chance of getting everything together by january. April is not full time class thou...augh next FULL time course after April not till July 08. I'm gonna go for it BUT: i'm really going to know my math before i test i sure don't wanna be out that cash then fail and have to pay 20.00 to re test. I'm gonna study up on some math see about getting sum $$ to do the STNA thingie. There is so much more red tape then i ever dreamed. You have to get a pshycial exam by your doctor and a police check to. I thought it would be easier i guess.
