Hi all!
Today is 11 months sober for me! It feels just like yesterday that I was getting smashed everyday!! It still really isn't any easier. I still think about booze all the time and want it all the time. Maybe with more days and hopefully years under my belt it will get easier! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Good job Valarie on 11 months free from drinking! Isn't it nice to be up and about on a Sunday morning without a hangover?
Thanks VW Girl. Yeah it really does feel good to wake up and not be sick. I have been a little bit depressed though. I don't even know why. I hate when I feel like this. I suppose I will go for some retail therapy later. LMAO....that always seems to work.
At least it isn't so hot anymore so that is nice.

Thanks to you too Zac. It's weird though! I was telling VW about how I was feeling a little depressed all day. I think it is the addict in my trying to do it's sneaky little sabatoge act. It didn't work though. Tomorrow will be a great day too. I'm not sure if you ever mentioned it but how long have you been sober. Has it been forever like VWGirl? Anyway thanks for the shout out and hope you are having a nice day!

Hey Val i have been sober one day at a time since the 24 march 1996. I have tried all different ways of staying sober AA years 1 to 4, then hard balling it for 4 years and now back with AA. I go to AA because it allows me a place to talk and also to share my gratitude for the chance i have been given. I hard balled it those years because i allowed someone to pi*s me off (In my mind) and stopped meetings. I go to meetings now cause i want to give away what i have and that is my gratitude. The town i live in is 3500 people and 1 meeting a week with 4 constant members but there are meetings 30mile away everyday of the week. I do 1 meeting a week and am well known still in my hometown for my drinking days but also i am regarded more by people now for who i have become and what i have achieved in those 10 years.
My oldest brother is also in recovery for about the same time as me He got sober in Auzzy.
Hey Val keep posting as it beats locking up the addictive insanity in our heads so it can ferment. Your humour and wisdom would warm many hearts at a meeting, just as they do on these boards.

Val, congrats on 11 months... that's fantastic girl, you are an inspiration... one day I want to be where you are at. I hope you're feeling better these days too... and yes, your wisdom and humor are greatly appreciated here! Congrats again and try to stay in touch...

Hey Val, you are too funny, I've missed the laughs you bring me... enjoy the mountains, maybe you'll get a break from the heat at the higher altitude... I wouldn't mind a mountain vacation myself. No golf for me though, it was an obsession for my dad & brothers and I got golfed out as a kid, LOL. But enjoy the fishing, catch me some trout!

Bella and Zac....you both make me laugh. Balls!!! I wish I could figure out how to copy a picture to show you guys. My Mother in Law sent a picture via snail mail of me on the pontoon boat last trip. I have one of those green fishing hats on with a bunch of hooks in it. I look like the biggest dork in the world. If I can find someone who has a scanner I will make a copy and have someone post it. You guys would definately get a good laugh. Hope you both are doing great!!!

I am a little late. (My lifes story.) But congratulations on 11 months. I remember being 11 months but we wont go there this is your time. Like you said it isnt easy and if anyone tells you it is give him or her a wide berth. It may not be easy but I would guess lifes different from what it was 11 months ago.

If they put me on payroll I think those ballbreakers would actually expect some real work out of me! LOLO LMAO...I like that I can come and go as I please and no one can say boo!! Hey Val you about or have ya gone fishing? I need to talk to someone about ballsLMAO as i found a lump in one of mine. That was the easy part the hard part (excuse the pun) was when the Lady Doctor had to check, all the it's a cold day out there excuses were in useLOL anyway hopefully it"s just the recoil from my vasectomy and an ultrasound should clear any worries although i did ask my wife if i could put it in a jar on the mantle piece as a coversation starter LMAO or LMBO(only 1 mind you) anyway enough of that balls. Val this has probably given you a giggle for when you mention balls in your posts. And i hope it hasn't offended anybody anyway thats life and i needed to get it out there.

You know I just recently found out about the warm temperature thing down there for men. I always knew about the cold and the shrinkage thing but I never knew that with heat they became low hangers!!! Hey don't allow the dry drunk to get inside your head alone and i know i sound like a parrot but here goes try a AA meeting as it is a great place to unload and you would settle in really well. I'd bet me right testicle on it (may as well i may loose it soon anyway)LMAO.
