Everyday is a struggle and sobriety doesn't and hasn't promised me happiness..
I had been with a heroin addict for over 4 years.....well he hasn't lived with me for 2 years as i couldn't tolerate the lying stealing lawlessness of his addiction....and had asked him to leave....to make a long story short he has lived at various places in the interim and had always maintained that he was heroin free for those 2 years we lived apart but i always knew he was lying...recently he was busted and convicted of drug possession to which he pleaded not guilty and has been put on 5 years probation...
I have always remained loyal to him and i guess it is to my credit that i have stayed sober as well...i am a recovering alcoholic and have never done hard drugs thank God
Recently i found heroin that he had left here which proves that he hasn't been clean for 2 years and of course i got rid of it and wrote to him about it...
At first i was angry scared and now sad...i am afraid he might still be using even tho he is on probation and i wrote to him that i still want to be friends and that addiction is his biz nez....i still worry and care about him but he refuses to contact me and i am almost ready to go over to his place but i am afraid that there might be another woman or that he would be high or worse tell me that he doesn't love me anymore and how dare i get rid of his stash etc.
I need to do something....but i don't know what to do
I wish he would just open up to me as a friend now and not worry about my judging him as i know we are not what we once were so there is no need for him to lie anymore...
I just can't sit here and not know....but i am so scared and even more scared of being rejected....MARY
Dear Mary,
Hi! Congratulations on your sober time!!! Wow! That is awesome!
As far as the the guy goes, there isn't really much you can do for him.
You can pray for him. The worst thing you could do for yourself is to go
over there. Let go and Let God. Hope this helps some. Take care of you!!
God bless!!!
