I am a little shakey...I did not sleep all night....How do I know if I need to be under a dr's care?

Just a recap. My name is Eric and was on this site about seven years ago dealing with opiate withdrawals. I abused pills for many years. I finally needed to get some help and suboxone worked for me well. The Dr.s I had were great and tapered my off. Now I was sober for years. Life went on and decided to have a few drinks on the weekends. Well that then turned to every day now im in my fourth day of alalcohol withdrawals. I'm feeling better today got some sleep last night but not a 100%. I know I'm an alcoholic and I'm an addict. Thanks for reading just wanted to share my story. I'll beat this I promise you!!

It's going....not to many withdrawals. Legs a bit crampy also a bit off balance. Now all the emotions come back. Depressed thinking about all the stupid stuff I did. Just have to look towards the future as it will definitely be bettter!
Hi Eric..I understand the way you feel. one thing is certain. we cannot change the past no matter how much we wish we could.therefore that leaves us with 2 choices..to dwell on the mistakes of the past or to concentrate our efforts in rebuilding a new life for us to live in the present. When we give thoughts and regrets to our addictive behaviour we keep it alive. It is really second hand feeding of the disease because we posion our spirit even when doing without the posioning of our physical body. This brings us to making a conscienous choice each day to make a decision to do something to build on the foundation that we are preparing for a new way of life. It has to start with changing our way of thinking. not an easy task ...very difficult but doeable.. start small..Today make a gratitude list of 3 things in your life you have to be grateful for..use those 3 things to be the foundation of which you will build your day ahead. read material that is positive and uplifting .. and listen to vidoes that will inspire you.. Start at step 1. I am enclosing a video. it is up to you if you listen to it or not . Dont let the collar fool you or deter you ..this man carries a good message.. you got nothing to lose by listening...
