4th Day On Sub & Feeling Fantastic!!!

Hi All,
This is for anyone that needs that little tap on the behind to dive in and try to get off the opiates but worries about the consequences. I was so afraid to start withdrawals and switch to Suboxone that I waited an entire year to start my suboxone prescription. One of the reasons I finally decided to switch was b/c the pills were due to expire soon and they are so expensive. I have been addicted for years but did not really believe that I could feel as good as I do so soon after stopping. But I am writing to say that the world has never looked brighter. Everything is so clear now and I sleep like a rock!!! No more night sweats, muscle aches and guilty feelings. I love this feeling!!! I wish I knew that it were this easy. I have wasted so much time. I also got to where I was spending money for barely any reason at all. It made me happy or something. But I knew that it was the drugs that was prompting this behavior. I feel as though I have been given a second chance. I just pulled a pair of jeans out of my closet that had a couple of vic's in them and did not feel one thing at all. I wasn't even afraid to put them in my medicine cabinet for fear that I would relaspe. But don't worry I actually did flush them, well why take the chance. Also to those of you that are feeling bad on the sub, talk to your doctor asap. I needed three initial doses of Subutex to stop the w/d's and then needed more Suboxone for later the same day to stay feeling real good. The only side affect was feeling a little too good and speedy. I seemed to even out by day three. But my doctor is allowing me to adjust my dose to find my happy place. That looks like it will be between 12-14mgs per day. He then said we will reevaluate everything in a month. But that first I needed to give my body plenty of time to get over the long term effects of the opiates. So this will take as long as necessary with no definitive ending date yet. What is the longest time frame that any of you all have been on Suboxone for and at what dose? Just curious b/c he implied that I would be on it for at least three months. If so, then what am I looking at when I get off of that?
However, nothing can be worse than my old life. My new life feels to good to be true!!!!
Thank all of you for your support and the great posts.
God Bless and stay clean or get clean soon!!!
xoxo

Good for You Mary.
You give me hope.
getting ready, you are just the type of person i need to hear from. please read my post " requesting input about SUB. I am scheduled to start sub in 2 weeks and I am somewhat nervous. I did hear the it clears your head up. But the doctor wants me in w/d for 24 hours. I dont think i can do that. I am thinking 12 to 18 is good enough. What is your experiance from the first few days? Please post on my thread if you would. I trust hearing from people who have been through it.

Thanks JAKE
