9 Months Sober And Chuffed

Today marks my ninth month of sobriety. I will pick up a purple (Crown Royal) chip today. I can't even believe the progress I've been able to achieve with just a little encouragement from my sponsor and a good deal of contact with MY HP. Thanks to all who have been a part of my last nine months of journey. It really IS a WE program.

One Day At A Time
Congratulations! I've enjoyed watching you grow. Keep up the good work. BTW down here in Florida we have aluminum chips for 9 months. I would have preferred purple <G>
I have to admit that as a "Yank" I can never remember if "chuffed" is a good or bad thing. I was happy to read that it was a happy experience. 9 months is awesome and you should be very, very proud of yourself. Just remember to stay grounded, you will never be able to use again recreationally, it just starts the cycle over again. You are a miracle! Revel in that feeling!
Thanks. Kat, I'm truly am grateful for the program and, when I tried everything--I mean EVERYTHING else to not drink, this program put the simplicity back into my life--the "DOH," factor.

Bumps! I'm a yankee through and through! Vermont Yankee, in fact--the worst/best kind. I just like the word--decided it was worthy of Americanizing--what do you think? I think, "Smug."

Chuffed. :)
Think Snoopy oblivious to the world doing his dance...
I'm a Connecticut yankee transplanted to the south. You had me fooled LOL

When I was a kid we used to go camping around Brattleboro, gorgeous state!
Hi Bumps.
Brattleboro is about 40 miles south of where I did all my youthful dastardly deeds. Then joined the service to get out. Ascutney, Weathersfield, Okemo Mtn? That general area.
I'm in Alabama, now. And on days like today, when it's raining and raw, I don't figure I moved far enough south!

Thanks.

I'm in North Louisiana and it's been pretty cold here. Nasty rainy damp cold.

I think the place we went was calleld Kenoli Village, or that's the name coming to me right now. Gorgeous place and near the river.
CONGRATULATIONS SKG. WOW! a full nine months. Have you given it any thought that is the amount of time for a new life to grow ? consider yourself reborn. Way to go. Be proud of yourself. Keep inspiring me and others on this site who so desperately need people like you around to give us strength and courage to make it as far as you have.God bless and be safe and once again CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!
Happy, happy Birthday, SKG!!!

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate you letting me recover in "real time" here with you--did you know the first word in the first step is, "WE?" It's a 'We' program, for sure, and I thank you all. And thanks, Stacey, I think you're right. Even I can see the changes now. Pretty cool.

Pirate, keep coming back. It works if YOU work it. We'll watch. :)

Well, happy nine month birthday!! What an achievement. You are doing so well, and reaping all the rewards for the massive amounts of hard work you are putting in. Well done you!!
Thanks, Lacey. Just so you know, you were the second person to greet me on ARG. :) Thanks.
How great it is to see how far you have come. The peace, serenity, smiles, laughter came from some hard work. By being honest, open and willing you have shown all of us that the steps though they may be hard at times are so worth it. I'll bet you were a good person before, but the mask of alcohol stopped you from lining up with God's plan for your life. The growth from the program looks good on you SKG.

Thankyou for coming here everyday and sharing something with us, you are a talented writer. Your writings breath recovery and your enthusiasm is contagious. Thankyou for so freely giving it away to others. I'm so happy for you and your family that your living and that your doing it happily. Celebrate tonight!

Congradulations and Happy Happy Birthday SKG
Thank you for the kind words, Lookinup. It truly is a gift. I wish for everyone the incredible freedom this program has to offer. I realize there are other ways to do things--and they may work for others. I always thought there was an easier, softer way. They simply didn't stick. I have so much to be grateful for, but I am incredibly thankful for ARG and the people here.
Yeah well done SKG, who not only has 9 months sober and a shiny new chip, but has also proven himself to be a terrific and committed cyber sponsor to yours truly. Thank you and congratulations. XX
Thanks, Ruth. Finish that list.
