My mother Chris (lookinup) informed me about this site a little while ago and I have read many posts already with yet even more to read and I have come to really enjoy this site. I have found it useful and informative and overall very warm and inviting. But the real reason I am posting this is because for those of you who do not know my mother she is a wonderful person. I love her more than anything and I will always be by her side no matter what. We have had our problems/issues in the past but I think that we have overcome a lot of obstacles. And no matter what I will always love her unconditionally. I just want the everyone to know what an honest, caring, generous, warm, intelligent, kind...etc. woman she is. As I have grown up (I am 21 now) I have been able to understand that my mother has a disease, alcoholism but more importantly, this is not her as a person it is the "alcohol talking". I have told her many times what a wonderful person she is to be around when she is not drinking. Let me tell you she is not only my mother but one of my best friends in this life that God has given to us. I can talk to her about anything and she can do the same with me, even when its not such a good thing. Over the years I believe we have become closer and have touched each others lives multiple times. And Mom if you read this, know that I love you and I will always love you and be there for you...in this life and the next...
Love,
Nicole
Wow, that brought tears to my eyes....I hope my 16 year old will eventually see things as you do...thank you for sharing!
Beautiful message! Its good to be reminded that we are much more than our alcohol problem. By the way Nicole, I have enjoyed your mother's contributions to this board; she is very insightful, intelligent and articulate.

Wow,
I think thats probably the best post I've ever clicked on here. It just doesn't get any better than that. Makes me wanna go give my girls a big hug. I'll wait till morning, they'd kill me if I did it now! lol I'm sitting here with a smile, full of gratitude for my wife and kids, and speechless, that was really nice. : )
Take care, thankyou for posting,
*wink* Bob

Thank you to all who responded; I meant every word. And to VWgirl dont worry she will understand in a few years. I was a horrible teenager and was completely rebellious which I regret now that I am more mature and have grown up. Just give her time :) To everyone else God bless you and your loved ones.

Thanks Nicole ~ I have faith that my daughter will find sobriety and eventually practice recovery in her life. Thank you again for that heartfelt post; what a beautiful tribute to your Mom.
