A Query

Heroin

A friend of a friends son has just died. He was sat at his computer when his mom found him. He was a heroin addict but he was on methadone but they think he was shooting as well, could that kill him??

He has to have a post mortem so they can find out why he died.

Izzy even though the guy was was on methadone....shooting up too much or more pure gear could have easily killed him.

Yeh sounds like an OD. It is easy to overdose on heroin when on methadone.

I bet ya he didnt even intend on that. Its such a shame and I am sorry for your loss.

Time and time again heroin takes away lives.

Thanks for your replies guys, I had my suspicions shooting while on meth might be dangerous... If I find out the results of the post mortem I'll let you guys know... in case it was the drugs...

Izzy, the results from the post moterm can take months. Especially wen its drugs test. Kevin dies in November and I still havent had the results back for him, hence I cant even register his death.

They said hopefully Jan-Feb.

I am sure Kevin overdosed before hanging himself but I will find out, hopefully soon then questions can be answered xx

Oh God Bunnyrocker, that is so awful, I'm so sorry that happened... it really hits home how bad this stuff is when you see it take so many lives...

donnas daughter here, sorry to hear that, yes you can die when using on top of meth especially when injecting it sounds like an overdose. you can even die from just using heroin on its own injecting or smoking it. all the best gemma x

Hi, I was aware that you could die from using heroin on it's own, probably more dangerous to mix the two though isn't it? I've never used drugs so I don't have a clue about how these things work. I'm usually over on the alcohol board. I watched that film Christiane F the other day to try and get a sense of what it must be like to be a heroin addict so I could get some kind of sense of what my friends son went through. Is that an accurate portrayal of addiction??

BTW his funeral is on Tuesday, haven't heard about the post mortem yet, his mum is too upset.
