Aa Thought For The Day ~aug 27

HI All ,

A.A. Thought for the Day

"We must be willing to make amends to all the people we have harmed. We must do the best we can to repair the damage done in the past. When we make amends, when we say: 'I'm sorry,' the person is sure at least to be impressed by our sincere desire to set right the wrong. Sometimes people we are making amends to admit their own faults, so feuds of long standing melt away. Our most ruthless creditors will sometimes surprise us. In general, we must be willing to do the right thing, no matter what the consequences may be for us." Have I made a sincere effort to make amends to the people I have harmed.

Meditation for the Day

The grace of God cures disharmony and disorder in human relationships. Directly you put your affairs, with their confusion and their difficulties, into God's hands, He begins to effect a cure of all the disharmony and disorder. You can believe that He will cause you no more pain in the doing of it than a physician, who plans and knows that he can effect a cure, would cause his patient. You can have faith that God will do all that is necessary as painlessly as possible. But you must be willing to submit to His treatment, even if you cannot now see the meaning or purpose of it.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may willingly submit to whatever spiritual discipline is necessary. I pray that I may accept whatever it takes to live a better life

Anyway just wanted to say hi to ya!! take care
God bless!!

gina :)
Hey Gina, I am doing pretty well--I am starting to regain some of my energy after having been in chemo for the last 4 months. It is good to see you posting! I am now peddling my 12 step recovery stuff on multiple sites, since I think I have something to offer users of drugs other than pain pills (and frankly, am at a lost to help those who believe that recovery begins and ends with making it through withdrawal).

I see that you and Bob are continuing the good work. Sorry to hear about your continuing pain. I did not realize that the problem was that severe. MRTI's scare me in principle. My cancer issues began with one in July 03. I do hope that they find a cause that is quickly and efficiently treatable. I am rooting for you!

I am still lurking in the shadows and pop up often enough to get myself in trouble--I made some inflammatory comments last night on a post and the entire post got removed! Sammy and I now have bragging rights over the rest of you! In all honesty, I made a derogatory comment against a poster who makes a number of pro-drug use posts and it was probably not appropriate. I suspect it provoked a vitriolic response which is what I intended. In my world I usually like to knock a pigeon off center and out of balance before I start working with him.

As we say in my group, "Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, sometimes not at all." No doubt I will get better in time :-)

Talk with you later,

August
