Carol..you say that you're scared of coming off the sub...do you think it's time for you to quit driving the bus too? That committee in our heads likes to future trip. Wants to make sure that we stay in control at all times.
Let it happen. Just be in the moment and take it as it comes. You're staying vigilant and that's all you can do for right now. You are so much stronger and smarter now, let it carry you through. Are you working with a sponsor? If not, it's time to get one. It's time to work this program and the steps the way it was meant to be worked. How's that go? It works if you work it?
Your friend surrendered. It makes my heart feel so good when I hear of another addict finally getting it and letting go absolutely. As I said before, you are her example, that's something to be so proud of.

Carol,,,Your friend will be fine. I know this is hard on you because of your relationsnip with her but just remember she is getting the help that is much needed. She'll be home before you know it. At that point she will need you more than ever and knowing you like I do there is no doubt you'll be there for her.
I'm gonna include her in my prayers and I'll bet she comes home a brand
new woman,
God Bless both of you.

Carol, I don't think that it was wrong of you to be hurt....I don't think you were making it about you...you were expressing your feelings. I understand how you feel...
I am glad she did inpatient. But, cutting off all sources and staying diligent is the key.
I am with you on the sub. It is so easy to know that you can't use. It stops the obsession from turning into a run...that simple. Of course you get to learn how to cope sober, with sub, but it is easier to get through the difficulties without the ability to use.
I think that your friend probably didn't want to trigger you. And, we all know how we can lie to protect our disease. I never used to lie about anything, but in order to protect my norco using, I had to lie. It becomes natural....and I was a very honest person before it. You can chalk it up to addict behavior..we have all been there.
I hope you have a good sunday in orange....lol.
Peace.
