After Detox

I feel it is best to just agree to disagree...I have a cancer screening tomorrow and the last thing I need is to stress out here. We are all entitled to our opininons...so,having said that......peace out...Sharonn
Sharonn, I just wanted to let you know that while I think rehab is a wonderful thing it isn't necessary for everyone. If you are sincere about getting involved with AA/NA and are willing to get a sponsor and work the steps you will probably have just as good a chance, if not better, than someone that goes to a 28 day rehab. The program has worked for many addicts/alkies who didn't have a chance to go to rehab. I've been thru many visits to detoxes and rehabs and they didn't work for me until I was willing to do the work necessary to stay sober. Until I took AA/NA seriously, all the rehabs in the world wouldn't have done me any good. They can't MAKE you do anything. You must do the work yourself and the things they teach can be learned in AA/NA. Right now just work on getting yourself clean. Do you have a meeting set up for when you get out of detox? Your best bet would be to go the same day you get out to get in the habit right away. Good luck and congratulations on making the plans to go to detox. It's a great first step.
