My husband is now dependant on alcohol. Seven years ago, we said goodbye to his father who died painfully of this illness. Hes mom sufferered for 40 years, is extremely bitter.
The alcoholism has always been a concern, but of recent years its become unbareable. Our two children are 11 and 12 are getting caught up in our emotions. (It was easier when they were younger)
There appears to be so much on the internet regarding recovery, help etc. Then I came across this site with real people in the thick of it. Doctors, AA, medication, Total Life Control by Gary Ross (Anyone done that??)

From my mother-in-law's prospective, she'd run a mile. I haven't told her and conveniently for the both of us she's either turned a blind eye or I've got so good at covering up.

Justine, Have you tried Alanon? I am a recovering alcoholic and was married to an alcoholic for almost 20 years. Meetings help...best of luck to you and your family.
