Never heard of it.

TRAZADONE
Purpose of medication and method of action: Trazadone is an antidepressant which may act by preventing the reuptake of serotonin into neurons. Thus, it potentiates the action of 5-hydroxytryptamine, the precusor of serotonin.

Side Effects: The most common side effects are: drowsiness (24%), dizziness (20%), tiredness (11%), dry mouth (14%), nervousness (15%), nausea, headache, and insomnia (10%).

Drug Interactions: There is limited evidence that trazadone may increase serum digoxin or phenytoin levels. Trazadone may alter the response to warfarin (Coumadin) and careful following of blood anticoagulant activity is urged if trazadone is added to existing warfarin therapy.

Cautions and Contraindications: Trazadone may produce priapism. Should inappropriate erections occur in a man taking trazadone, call your physician immediately.

Usual Dose: An initial dose of 150 mg/day in divided doses increasing to a maximum of 400 mg/day
HI JR...I was on trazadone for years...I didn't have an allergic reaction but if you think you are then call the doctor...sometimes though when starting an AD your body can go through some weird side effects...It can take 2-4 weeks for your body to adjust...Love Gina
