I love B.C.! It is so pretty there. When I lived in Seattle, we drove up there a couple of times. Stayed in Horseshoe Bay and took the ferry back. It is gorgeous. I like Montreal too. Did you just get a lot of snow?
Sheez, it's about 60 down here in northern CA. I am from new England originally and miss the 4 seasons sooooooo much!

Was in rehab in St. Helena, CA, at the St. Helena Hospital which has a drug and alcohol treatment center. I was there 28 days and we had a very full schedule. Went to a meeting every night. Had to be at stretch and walk at 6:30am every morning, which I loved. And then there were lectures, group therapy, pet therapy, role play, private therapy (not too much of that) homework...step work mainly and other stuff. It was a very good program, I feel. Though I have nothing to compare it too.
There were some people there that only detoxed, but most stayed the 28 days, as I did. I didn't detox too badly there as I had tapered myself down pretty good by the time I arrived. I am so thankful to have been able to go there. Never in my life have I been able to focus entirely on me for 28 days strait. It was incredible. I put some closure on a couple of big resentments.
Can';t write everything, but this gives you an idea I hope!
Hugs,
Omega (Pam) I use Omega so there isn't any confusion with FLAgirl Pam.

Wow that sounds so great!!!!!
Massages help so much...helps to get the toxins out, human hands on our skin help heal...always thought massages should be part of an overall therapy..
That place sounds great...your lucky to have been able to go for a whole 28 days.........
Thanks for sharing..

I love to get a massage! One of my favorite things. Have you ever taken a mud bath? They have them in Calistoga, where there are natural springs. Nothing like a soak in hot mud then a massage and then a hot tub. There are a bunch of spas around here that have them.
You don't practice the steps, correct? I am totally asking out of curiousity, not to jump down your throat. I have mixed feelings about the whole program. I jump all over the board with it. I have no problem saying I'm an alcoholic or addict. But I have not been able to work the steps properly yet or incorporate them into my life. Does that make any sense? Did you read A Million Litlle Pieces?
Omega, P2, Pam.............Pick one, any one!

I haven't read that one. Have you read "Dry" by Augestine Burroughs? That's really good.
I go to meetings and talk with my sponsor. I sorta take what I need/want and leave the rest. It seems to work for me right now. I did have my relapse, so I have to keep in check. Damn disease snuck right up on me. Well at least I learned and thakfully nothing too bad happened. I know I have so many "yets" out there.
Hugs,
pam

Hey Krazi,
Where are you in Cali? I love taking the ferry boat in WA and BC. It is so gorgeous up there. I wish we had snow too...it would feel more like Xmas.
And yes, the setting at St Helena rehab was INCREDIBLE!! The views were breathtaking. We used to sit on the balcony and look out and be in such awe that we were looking at the beauty.
Hugs,
Omega (Pam)
