You're right. I am using as directed. I guess I just don't trust myself yet. I've never used anything as directed. The first time I ever took a narcotic it was vicodin for an ear infection when I was 18 (11 yrs. ago) I had heard of vic before. My ear hurt like crazy and instead of taking 1 pill, I took 2.
I have my sub clinic/group on Wed. and also a counseling session. At the session we are suppossed to talk about intensive outpatient therapy. It is 3 days per week. I could only do that for like a week or two because the clinic is a 75 min. drive each way and I need to work. I plan to go at least once per week though. I really want to find NA meetings in a nearby town that i can go to inbetween sessions. I'm not going to NA in my tiny little town because my husband in a well-known Dr. and even though what happens there stays there I have a feeling it wouldn't.

Another thing I suggest (also said it in other thread) is to try to reduce you Sub dosage. Sub is very powerful and most don't realize how low of a dosage they can take and still feel fine. It just makes the taper that much easier when you're ready to come off it completely.
Try it .... you might like it .... green eggs & ham, sam I am ....

Atlas...what about giving your meds to someone to dispense for you? That way you stay accountable?

I'm so glad to know that you're going to group. Please check into finding an NA soon. I understand about not wanting anyone to know..as you get further and more comfortable with your recovery, that will change. I promise. You'll want to share the miracle with everyone.

hello,as i said im on sub and have been for 6 months and im on 4mgs a day.I have never needed more then 6mgs .really after about the fifth day it will build to in your system. If i took more then 6mgs i would get sleepy ori just felt the same on less...And it also cause constapation really bad Its horiable .but,its one on the side effects so id be perpared for it.Another thing i dont think you will have to worry about abuseing sub. you can take all you wont and want get the high feeling.Or feel any different. but maybe sleep or dizzy feeling.JMO it dont matter if i take 4mgs or 8mgs i still feel the same so i firgured why take the extra when i dont need it.My pys. told me if i didnt need as much perscribed then dont take it.Like someone else said doc. they really dont know alot about the meds. my pys. is always asking his patients how they are taken it and what seems to work and ect....he said im learning from my patients.Here all the doctor or pys. i called would of never have sent you home with it without them montoring you that first day.My pys. has had someone to come in and got really sick and ended up sending them to the hospital.These doc. only take a 8 or 10 hour course to be able to give this out.So most really dont know alot about it.They dont relize how strong this drug really is.I have a friend on it and she was takeing the amount he said for her to take and she kept telling me i dont know im sick nasaua,sleeply,light headed,dizzy.She was taken to much and had to find the dose that she needed to be on.Sub. has a life span of 36 hours.I have saved alot i mean alot of money yeah i think its tradeing one for another but, i dont have to run around hunting and begging for pills.Or in the doctors office earily or worried about where im going to get my next pill.i went to bed thinking about pills and was the pills was the first thing on my mind in the mornings.I bearly could get out of bed and felt like sh** t every morning ,Now i dont wake up not feeling sick .I wait until 12 or 1pm before first dose 2mgs then around 5 or 6 my next dose 2mgs.15 tablets last me 30 days.My doctor has said i can stay on it the rest on my life .He said it like a diebetic that needs thier meds to control it.But,im hopeing to come off of it soon.I have used pain pills on sub. and it blocks it out .But,after that i have been craveing and didnt have the craveings until i did this.I try to keep my mind on better things.Take care ,crystal
