Am I The Only One Awake At 4:00 A.m.?

Hi:

I'm a total insomniac. I wake up around 3:00 am almost everyday, stay up until 5 - 6:00 then, if I'm lucky, go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Is anyone out there? 4:00 am is a very lonely time of the day (or should I say night?) I'm meeting one of my favorite people in the world for lunch today so I'm excited about that. She is 79 years young. I'm in my 40's, I've known her about 15 years and she is fantastic. Energetic, fun, great sense of humor, a positive influence on my life. I means so much to me to have someone like that in my life because a lot of my other relationships tend to be not so healthy. Perhaps even dysfunctional. Why am I still in them, you ask? Good question. One of my "friendships" has been for about 25 years. So, its kinda like, well, it may not be healthy, but we've been "friends" for so long! Notice how I keep putting friends in quotes. Not a good sign. I can't really be honest with her, and we never really do anything together, she doesn't even get out of bed until 2:00 - 3:00 in the afternoon. By comparison, I'm not so bad. Maybe that's the draw, to make me feel better about me. I hope not, cuz that doesn't say too much about me.

Enough of that, I'm so happy I found this forum, I get on it almost everyday. There's a lot of support, good advice, no one's being judged. It's a very positve thing in my life. So, thanks to everyone for that! I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday - I live in Georgia, it's supposed to be in the 80's again today, I actually prefer colder weather - but this beats the hell out of Houston, Tx where I lived for 10 years. Miserable, hot, humid and big roaches that FLY. No offense to any Texans please. Just my opinion (and y'know what they say about opinions!)

Have a great day!
Hey Lola.
I get up at 4:00am
I live in Houston and believe me I know exactly what you are talking about.
I also work outside and after living here most of my life, the first of June I still wonder what the f*uck was I thinking moving here.LOL
Hope you have a good day.
Morning Lola,

What time do you go to bed at night? How much sleep are you getting all told? Light exercise during the day will help you sleep better at night -- if that's possible. I know you have a bad leg. Is swimming an option for you?

I used to get up at 4, drug up, and enjoy the next floaty two hours before I had to get the boys ready for school. Now I use the quiet time to get some writing done, answer my emails, etc.

Hope it's not too hot in Georgia today. Have a pleasant Sunday.

TIM, MOVE TO HAWAII. KeeKee needs you.
morning!
i never get up at 4 am but i do wake up a million times a night and then i will come out and post and read some threads, then go back to bed, this frikin menopause sucks,, that was my first symptom, waking up too much, i couldnt figure it out after seeing numerous doctors and even going to a sleep clinic to have my sleep analyzed, i finally contribute it to menopause. no sleep apnea yeah!
this was no fun for me to go through, i had it rough, the hot flashes were miserable to go through, it would be january and i remember coming to work in a sleeveless top, sweating profusely and turning on the ac, my co workers werent too happy about that. i would constantly get remarks about how inappropiate i was dressed for the weather.
but i am post menopausal now, my eggs are dried up and my hair is thinning some. great joy!
hawaii is absolutely heaven on earth, i would love to live there.
well guys a few more threads to read and its off to church we go! jewels
