hey guys... does anyone have any advice on taking ambien during ct w/d? i have only been on about 6-8 7.5 tabs after about a year on sub...( car crash... hurt my neck ) c/t is hell on earth for me for some reason. when i was 15 i was caught in bed with a girl and her father shot me point blank range in the chest with a .22 mag... i would relive that 10 times before going through 1 day in w/d ... will ambien help me sleep? any concerns i should have. i am hoping tp get back on sub tommarrow but if i can't i need to quit using. suggestions...?

Best thing to do is talk to your doctor. My doctor put me on a sleep-aid while I was on sub called cholol-hydrate. It helped a lot. Mixing anything with sub can be very, very dangerous, so tell your doctor you're having trouble sleeping and see what his advice is.

It is for sleep, but if you can get Trazadone from your doctor for sleep that is better for you in terms of non-addictive, and it gives you more restful sleep, but everyone is different, Ambien never did anything for my insomnia, but Traza did.

I am sorry I didn't read the part you were on Sub, I can't say taking anything to sleep while on sub, I have never been on it. Please disregard my post. Sorry

Trazodone can be taken while you are on sub. This I know my husband was perscribed both at the same time. It is a better alternative to benzo's that shouldn't be taken on sub, but are prescribed together none the less. And trazodone isn't suppose to be addictive.....but then again nothing is you know....

For insomniaI was put on Serequel. First medication to help with the insomnia.
Sleeping pills are quite dangerous. Negative about serequel is side effects but they are worth as sleep is most important.

I went thru the insomnia because I had to get out of the habit of taking pills. I had a compulsion to take pills for every little thing, some real, some made up just to take a pill. Like it says in the Big Book in "Acceptance is the Answer" "I had a pill for every ill, and I was sick a lot". This is not to say that everyone should do it. This is just what I did. Breaking the cycle was important to me.
Ambien IS habit forming and is classified as a schedule IV narcotic. I tried to take it and so did my hun while going thru w/d and it did NOTHING.......my doctor said that he was afraid of that happening. He said it was like giving a tic tac to a whale. LMAO and he was right. Also, they are very, very expensive, like 4 bucks a pill where I live and insurance will not pay for them. I heard that they are suppose to come out with a generic form though. Anyhow, try to talk to your doctor about this and try some other alternatives. 12 Stepper is right, addicts will take a pill for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.........
