After reading your post about marijuana maintainance, i felt i should respond. This is a addiction RECOVERY board. You state you go to Na and people have a issue that you smoke pot becuz they are jealous? And everyone is cramming themselves with or food or cigs. That is comparing apples with oranges. You state you are happy and joyous and free, well when i smoked pot i was too becuz i was high all the time. That is great you are off all other substances and congrats for that. I am not into convincing you whether or not to smoke pot, do what you must however next time you get a urine test for a job and test postive tell the employer you are joyous and free, next time you get stopped for a ticket and they find pot tell the judge you are joyous and free, or pick up pot at someones house and they get busted hey you are free. As long as you must have that substance whatever it is you are not free. Your last word on that thread was the word honesty. Maybe its time you get honest with yourself. There are many people in this forum struggling with pot and the only difference between you and them is their DESIRE to get clean. I have my own issues with addiction and I read this board for support and to learn from others peoples experiences.

Robbie, I knew what you meant, so no worries. And I appreciate your thoughts on the matter. It sounds like you understand.
Once a person is sober, the guilt and remorse can be very strong. Especially when it comes to the effect of our using on our families and society in general.
I have mental health issues because of my substance abuse and childhood issues. I have the courage to enter a hospital and walk through the doors of the day treatment mental health unit and face my truth. It is natural for some people to attack me, due to the fear surrounding mental illness and ignorance regarding medication.
Sometimes people say mean things because they are hurting.
Hurt people hurt people.

.....wonderwoman....i also believe...other people attack us cos of the jealousy of.us getting clean...and cos of the unstableness in their own lives....take care.WW....robbie......
Excellent point. Have a good one, Robbie. :-)
wow !! I am new here and it looks to me that nobody here is promoting recovery you are all just playing the same game. It looks to me by reading this post that the initial attack took place when it was posted attacking "ANJI" and the guest blasted you all with some facts about yourselves and now your all feeling "attacked". Ahhhhh shouldnt dish what you cant take!!! Spread the message of Hope & Recovery not poison! You ALL need to grow up and practice the principles you preach!!!
butter fly kisses, thanks for your input, this thread was not started to attack anji. the thread stated simple facts of being clean. promoting pot smoking on this board is not really what struggling addicts need to hear. people usually get in a uproar when a nerve is touched and for myself and being in na, i have yet to read in the pages of narcotics anonymous, any step 12 work or even heard of a sponser giving the green light on pot smoking. most people attend na meetings to help them get clean off a mind altering substances. what the real deal here is folks wanting to get the green light on pot smoking and thinking its a harmless drug. all someone really does when they stop using certain substances and start smoking pot is change addictions. addiction is a life or death issue and most people on this forum struggle daily, i know i do. once a person has crossed the line into addiction any substance can become dangerous. pot was not my main addiction however i would surely fall into other things if i started thinking "its only pot" being a newbie welcome to the board, we all have something to share that will be of value to share with others, but promoting drug use would probably not be one of them

I'm afraid I have to agree with butterfly-guys what is up anyhow? Anjis original post was to the effect that she was joyous and free of the other things she had given up, In other words, even though she was not toally clean, she had improved and was a lot better off than before.
However as I have seen in the past, to the 12 stepers, if you are not perfect, you are a failure. Carol said as much, after saying that she is not into convincing people wether or not to smoke pot, she launhed into a tirade of sarcasm which made it obvious that that was exactly what she was trying to do.
The fact that Anji was on this board making those comments, indicates to me at least that she has the desire to quit, otherwise why try to justify her behaviors? Why is it some posters on this board take such offense when anyone wonders wether it is OK to smoke occasionally or even on a daily basis? Go back and read the tread Anji posted on originally and note that nate reconsidered his position. I thought, quite frankly, that Carol was a bit snitty in her original post on this thread, probably because she did not get the gist of the original post, but decided to keep quiet.
Didn't we just have this discussion? Try to resolve in the future to post in a positive manner, or just keep it to yourself. Nobody needs to be preached to, and those folks who want to advocate for drug use will just go away if we ignore them or answer their posts with intellegence and not demeaning comments.

You rush to judgement a little too quickly if all you have read on this board is this thread, usually these people are much kinder than the above posts would indicate.
%Ok, kids don't make me stop this car!%
(Authors note: on this board at least comments enclosed by %'s are meant to be sarcastic)
