Thank God those days are over.

Hey Jim,
It's good to see you posting. How are you doing?
Yes, I guess left unchecked, our disease would have taken us down many dark roads, and it's not funny, but I have this vision of Stuart Smalley waving a kitchen knife at my pharmacy assistant who is built like a Sumo wrestler and it just cracks me up.
Have a good week.
Love, Gina

Hey Jim and Gina...so good to see you both posting. You don't do it enough.
I read that link and the only thing I kept thinking was...I feel their pain and desperation. I don't know for sure that I would ever have gone that far, but anything's possible when you're an addict. Your life and brain are not your own.
Thanks for sharing that....
Love
Lisa

Hi Gina and Lisa;
Thanks for asking. I wish I could post more often here but right now life / recovery is very busy. I try to get to the board at least once a day, read what's happening and, time permittng, respond to others. But for now it's a day-to-day proposition.
I really do want to share my recovery because I think it's of value (not an ego trip, honest). Just that it's real. No more secrets. No more running away.
For me it's all about self-discovery and finally finding comfort in my own skin. I'm not there yet but it's a journey, not a destination. We all find our way in life, and if I can help one other person along the way then that is a good thing!
Hope all is well with you guys.
Jim
