My surgery went O.K. They cracked a crown with anestesia--God knows what that will cost . Lots of pain last night as itall wore offf. No opiates. He prescribed keflex to take for infection. Told him no opiates yet he prescribed darvocet. Which I told my parents to fill and give to my grandma. She takes them as pays a lot for them.
Wont know if it was a success till folllow up. Taking 8mg- of suboxene and 400 mg of motrin 3 times a day.
See my sub doctor on monday. It hurts alot but I will live.

Hey Jeff... man, i am glad i read this... did you have a tooth worked on? I am sorry i haven't been on and must have missed your post... sounds like we are in the same boat. I am having mine extracted on Monday... never have had anything like this done and i am scared. I told him that i didn't want any take home narcs, but he sent a script home with me (it was on the same one as the amoxicillin he prescribed). I passed this first test... Shea went with me and told the pharm that we didn't want the opiates, just the amoxicillin. It's good to know that you are doing okay... i know that you are in pain... but i am really proud of you and you are an inspiration to me right now... because i know through you that this can be done without any drugs. Take care of yourself... you are really strong for doing this without drugs!

Sorry to hear about your tooth pain, Jeff (yours too Bri). I think I'd rather have a baby than that sort of pain. At least you can get an epidural for the birthing process.

Tooth Pain? They cracked a part of my front tooth a crown during surgery. I had a polyp removed from my vocal cord.
I cannot talk for 5 days and then go back to get scoped to see how its healing within next 2 weeks.
Best part is they did not shoot me up with all sorts of cortisone. Anasteologist said I would be fine without it.
Pain was real for about 36 hrs now its just a nuisance.

Glad to see you are doing better. Makes you a stronger person to work through the pain..We have to focus our minds elsewhere. Hang in there.. If I could not talk for 5 days my fam,ily would be thrilled.LOL

Jeff..it's nice to see that you're doing better and staying strong and resolved. It's not easy. I never know how I would be in situations like this...all I can do is trust.

Lisa I spent most of my life doing things my way when it comes to doctors self medicating. No more since june 2004 and man I am a healthier person for it.
Well a month ago when my sub doctor said I would be O.K with boosing back from 2 mg to 8mg with the motrin I was a bit hesitant.
When all the anastesia wore off I had popped my 8mg and yea it hurt like a b**** but if I hade taken percocets they would have wrote 1-2 every 4 hrs as needed. I cannot take 2 percocets. I know that so why go that way.
If the pain had got out of hand one phone call and they would have given me morphine because I needed it.
I am glad I listened to my sub doctor --trusted her.That is a big step for me.
Was staying at my parents but they lost there Electric about an hour ago. So I am home. Cannot talk for another 2-3 days.
