Lord knows that many of us should have been banned or put in time out at some point in time here. I know this since I have already been put on restriction...LOL...Anyhow, I hate to see anyone banned or put in time out but it does happen for a good reason from time to time. I beg to differ... lisa is not alone on here... and I agree that while jeff was at the last out of line with his words just because he is a man and it was directed at a woman well I have seen some women that can handle themselves and will not use gender as a leaning post.... I am no different than anyone on here if you want to say something that is derogatory than dont let my gender stop you.. lord know others havent both male and female.... which brings me to my other point....
there have been times over the months that others have NOT been banned for some of the very same things jeff was... maybe the difference was in degree... I am not so offended in his use of the potty mouth as when told Pam to go take a pill .. that is on here one of the cardinal sins to me.. and I can not see that making anyone happy.... thinking it is one thing but posting it on forum like this.. that is what to me was out of line.. whether it was him a male.. or woman or a alligator for all that matters... out of line.... but... others have said the very same things both the pill line and the cursing and other such things and they havent gotten banned.... not my concern usually but....
the same thing just happend to lisa that happen to me the other day.... she asked a question and was attacked as I asked a question and though it started out nice it quickly turned into something quite ugly.... it is nearly impossible to ask any type of honest controversial questions unless you are some people... the goody goody's than no one wants to hurt cause they are seen as fragile... or the ones that are seen as true bullies that never back down not for one second and say 'I see your point" or 'Im sorry'.... everyone knows some of whom i am referring.... it certainly isnt myself or lisa... but if you think for one min that I am gonna quit trying to raise issues you are nuts... recovery issues.. ... I will ask the hard questions and I will take the consequenses.. at least for now... I will do so without name calling and I am trying to find a way to respond directly but.. I too am a work in process....

It is funny how many think only they can reply to a post. Ive yet to see where anyone else pays any more than anyone else to read and to post here. Everyone says keep it to recovery but come on, Ill bet 3/4 of the threads are bashing not recovery talk. As for Suboxman, (maybe he doesnt want to be called by first name either) I recall he had a solution for getting to sleep and it wasnt very gentelmanly (I think it was him) and I remember thinking, wow he can say that here? So, Im thinking that, on top of other remarks added to it. Nonetheless, EVERYONE is free to speak here last time I checked our 1st amendment. If you dont care for someones reply, thats another story, But we each have our right to say it.
BTW - I wasnt defending his remarks - they were crude and did call for action. Im referring to the everyday comments of who should post and who shouldnt. He definitely crossed the decency line.
I still don't see what the point is that others should had gotten banned too in the past. The point is Jeff did get banned and he did deserve it.
Donna and Teresa are correct. Everyone has a right to post here, whenever and however they feel is necessary when it comes to recovery. Personal attacks are wrong. Period. And we've all been guilty of it. It's really easy to call someone else on their bulls*** but when's the last time you looked at your own. Are you part of the solution or part of the problem. I like to think that when someone calls me out, I take a step back and think about it. Then I apologize. Instead of keeping it going, think about your own part in it. No one is perfect, especially me. I say and do some really dumb things. Whether that's just my personality or being an addict (or both) I don't know. All I know now is that there has been some pretty bad damage done here between people or "groups". Can it ever be laid to rest? Probably not, not with this many personalities.

Ive been told on more than one occassion, that since I dont post often, etc I really have no say. That is one of the funniest attitudes here. Soooooo, lets just allow everyone their say here. We will never all agree. But as the old saying goes, lets agree to disagree. (And lets keep our posts out of the gutter)
