does anyone know if subutex has a suppresent in it for food,as i seem to have a bad eating disorder i have to literally force feed miself
I have never taken suboxone or subutex but I have a real hard time eating too. I currently take periactin (prescription) to stimulate my appetite. It seems to work really well. But I still have to take it in order to get hungry and sometimes I forget to take it...... What a dummy I am....

I lost weight when I went on subutex, and I know of two girls who attend my clinic who have developed anorexia simulanteously with starting subutex. I don't really think it does suppress your appetite, coz most blokes seem to put on loads of weight. I know one bloke who went from 9 stone to 17 stone in six months! I think it has a lot to do with our addictive personalities looking out for a new nail on which to hang their hat. I know that for a while I became very focused on control, and controlling my eating, subconsciously was one way it manifested itself.

anorexia (loss of appetite) is a common side effect of opiates, inlduding Sub. It usually subsides after a couple of months but if its persists you should consult your treating physician.
I've been eating like a pig this last week or so. Maybe it's because of my period. I've dropped my subs again as well - down to 10 now, so maybe lowering my dose has brought back my appetite. I seem to want to eat something every couple of hours. I thought I would have put on weight, but not according to the scales.
