elim, just to clarify, I am on Subutex, they started me on suboxone in detox, once out, went to the Addiction Doctor, and he switched me to subutex being I was not a needle user. So it does depend on the person, their history etc like you said as to whether one gets one or the other.
He is also a believer in Meth treatment, he also said sub is the better of the two drugs, based on the chemical makeup, something I know nothing about. So i wont even try to go there. He said when Meth is taken properly it has saved lives. But like all drugs, all of them can be abused. Sub can be and is abused. Be it oxone or tex.
People on this very board and other boards have admitted to abusing them, taking more than precribed, so it goes back to behavior, not the drug itself?

That was basically my point, not to demonize a particular drug. It was also to give buprenorphine respect and be aware that this is not a lightweight drug. It is Schedule II, which means something pretty serious. That is all.
And you bet its not the drug, its how people use it. That goes for opiates in general. They are absolutely necessary drugs for painkilling and sad to say that while there are alternatives, and they work much better than people think, for the serious, serious pain, there are no real alternatives, period.
But I believe that people, not drugs, are the problem. I do not believe in the War on Drugs, its not working, at all.

I overheard these 16 year old's at the gym talking about steroids and taking Xanax to sleep at night as if it was completely normal?
Guess where they are getting it?.........yea,that's right.The internet.

I am seeing it all around as my daughter is in High School and tells me horror stories...at Thanksgiving I was talking with a couple of teenage boys about the roids in school and they said basically 80 percent of the team was on them...and I was also told it wasn't feasible to test them due to the financial end of it and our school couldn't afford it...my daughter also told me that kids sell pills all the time at school, they share vicoden like it's M & M's....All I can do today is educate my children and pray, and I do alot of both...

They don't realize that steroids can cause liver cancer and eventually shrink your balls. .....Isn't that special?

It is insane and I do have a hard time with it sometimes with these coaches that like to pretend it's not happening....I also see it out at the BMX track with our "Pros"....
