Hello my friends and online family ~
Well...a few months ago, I downloaded this program called registry cure. Yep - it took care of a few problems I was having with my computer. As a matter of fact, it worked so well that it took care of a few things that I was not having problems with, such as my CD drive. Can we say the CD drive quit functioning?
So - instead of going out and buying a new CD drive, I got the bright idea
to do a system restore, in hopes of salvaging my CD drive. Ooooooops! After rebooting I realized that by doing that system restore, I wiped out just about all my files, pictures, software programs. etc. and there was very little left that I had accumulated over the past 4 years since I bought this computer. Yeah - you got it - zip, nada, nothing left including email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, etc.. And of course the good computer geek that I am not, I failed to back up 98% of the "stuff" that I had accumulated over the years. Ah duh!
That night and the next morning, I was feverishly trying to contact our IP specialist through my work. When I finally had a chance to talk to him, he said, "Sammy, I don't understand why this happened as those files should be backed up somewhere on your PC." He's probably right, but I'm going to blame it on Lady Clairol Platinum #00000 (that's about as blonde as one can get!)
I am requesting - no, I am pleading - that those of you who have my email address, (and care to), shoot me a quick email so I can add you to my address book. Although I've pretty much restored, (at much more expense than if I had just gone out purchased a new CD drive that was suggested to me by my son), all the programs that I use - it sure is lonely in my email inbox and I miss the heartfelt hellos, jokes, struggles, and love that I have received from so many of you here over the past few 24 hours.
Thanking you in advance for your kindness in helping me.
Hugs all around ~
Sammy
