Asking For Support

I'm hoping to enlist a bit of support...I have just been to the doc and have been given Zyban to quit smoking. I quit for three months back in the spring, cold turkey and I went through hell! So this time I thought I'd make use of the help available...

And I know how helpful I found this site when in a relationship with an H addict...so thought I'd hop over to the nicotine board and hope to gain a little support to help me kick this filthy habit for once and for all.

So I start the Zyban tomorrow and start cutting down on the fags for the first few days, then stop.................................

Wish me luck!
Maddy
I'm here if I can help, Maddy. You might try quitnet.com too. I've been going there a lot lately. I am FTLKat if you'd like to add me as your buddy.
Well Zyban is weird...has anyone else here taken it? It made me raelly down for a few days...at least I think it was the Zyban cos there was nothing particularly wrong in my life!

Anyway...I quit yesterday!!! Didn't really crave at all. I wanted a fag a few times but didn't feel like I needed one. I could have really used one after dinner when I felt really bloated...that's when I loved to have a fag.

I kept myself really busy...rearranged all the furniture in my room and cleaned and tidied like mad!!!

Day 2 today...hope it stays as easy as yesterday. I am working today and used to go out and smoke with others. I never took my half hour lunchbreak cos my fagbreaks added up to half an hour probably...so I will either take fresh air breaks today or try and find half and hour to take in one go.

Wish me luck!!! :o) I am feeling very proud of myself this time, which is what makes me think I might be ready to stop for good this time.

I decided to quit smoking when I got a wake up call on January 10. I could really use someone to talk to right about now. I'm really having a hard time at this. Please if your out there and you know how I feel email me. I could use a friend.
Hey, Carol. Have you quit yet?
Hey Maddy I took Zyban several years ago, it made me short of breath, at least that is what the doc determined after I went through a million tests. I stopped taking the Zyban and I could breath again.
How is it going for you? I need to quit, I guess I must be serious cuz I popped in here.

I couldn't do the Chantix either, gave me way wierd dreams. Anyway, take care hang in there. I love being a nonsmoker, wish I was one...
