Been A While And Just Wanted To Say Hello

Hey guys !!!
I hope this note finds all of you well. I am still clean with the help of NA meetings and god. Life is so much better. There are things I can not control, and I just accept them. Being clean has taught me to stay in the moment, live for today, yesterday is just that YESTERDAY--and tomorrow--well that will get here when it does.

A program that I thought was hard, is easy---once I gave up trying to do things my way. I am not richer in " things " but I am so much richer in heart and soul--I am not in a dark hole, I have a complete circle of new friends, and I still have some old ones. What being clean has allowed me to do is accept my flaws, and not always point oout the flaws of others.

I still read post daily--but I do not post much--I know I should, and I plan on doing more. I started this new life on Septemeber 20, 2004, and life has never been the same since. I still have my moments, but I have the tools to get through them. If not for this board and going to meetings to lay the ground work I would never have been able to do this--for that I thank all that post and share.

We are a family, and a special one.

Mike,reading your post this morning was so heartwarming. You sound so PEACEFUL.You are really making things work for you,that is amazing.Congratulations! So good to see you posting. Missed ya. You sound tremendous. I'm so proud of you, I remember your journey. You should be proud of yourself. Your such an inspiration. How are things with your niece? I remember you were going to help her, hope it went well. Don't be a stranger, there are lots of new people that could benefit from you.

Its really nice to see you. It sounds like you're doing well. You know how I feel about you. You're deffinetly one of the good guys. You were a huge inspiration for me when I first came here. I remember the first and I think the only email we shared, you gave me your phone number and that just blew me away,,,,that someone would actually care about me enough to give me their #. I know I never used it but I know if I ever need to, you would be their for me. Well I found out that the board had a lot of special people that cared just like you.

I know without this place I would not be coming up on a year clean and I will never ever forget all of you that helped me.

Mike, You deserve the best life has to offer and I hope you're loving life right now.

It's so nice to see people share what works for them and from someone who so obviously works a program of recovery. I really hope you stick around and post more Mike..it's been too long.

I have stuck a post it note in my day planner to post more often. I know in order for me to stay clean, I need to give back what I have learned--and not just in NA meetings. It was great to read all your post's !

You all are part of my extended family, there is family by blood, then there is family by choice, and I choose all of you--new comers, old timers, those that are struggling, and those that are just thinking about it....without this family of choice, I would have no family of blood--because I would be dead.

When I really got honest with myself, and started to look at me and not others, that was when it clicked. I am proud to be clean today, I worked hard, I hated it some days, I loved it some days, and other days I just did it..I just showed up meetings clean and listened----and I learned so much.

For those that are struggling, try a meeting---you will be surprised to see yourself in every seat there.
