Hi there... I have finally been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with it as my life is so chaotic and the drinking out of control so much now I am scared to not have any in the house...
Any suggestions would be helpful... thanks...
Izzy, What does your Psychiatrist say, I assume to stop all drinking and drugging, no? I sponsor a girl with BPD, and it is at bay now since she has been sober for over 18 months and attending meetings. She actually is a very functional young woman. What type of help our you getting, what resources are available to you?
They put me on Solian... there's not much help here really. I see my psychologist every 2 weeks and my psychiatric nurse every six. In between I'm left to my own devices...
The Solian says it's for Schizophrenia but it doesn't seem to be doing anything except making me drowsy.
I don't know... I'm at a loss... I don't even know what to say next...

Izzy,
I have a multitude of mental illnesses including BPD, I also have GAD and Bipolar.
They started me on Seroquel (also prescribed for Seizures and Schizophrenia)for the Bipolar, at first I was taking 100 mgs and once I was in Rehab they upped the dosage to 300 mgs. The first two weeks I was falling asleep all the time, now I am used to the dosage and don't have a problem with it, I do however take it at about 8pm.
Talk with your dr. the drowsiness in all probability is a temporary effect, once you get used to the dosage you may not have this problem.

Hi thanks for the post back. I was worried it might not be a temporary thing the drowsiness. I'm on 300mg of the amisulpride (Solian) I see my people next week so I have a few things I want to discuss with them anyway.
How did your drugs make you feel after you were taking them for a bit? I don't know what I'm supposed to feel with these pills...
