Hey Lisa,
I have two dogs to bathe, a house to tidy, clothes to wash. I can't get a good housekeeper, or cleaning service, This last two that walked in I sent them home after one was afraid to break her nail,, yes I called references, but they will only give you GOOD ones to call anyway, so it is a moot point, 10 inch long nails, heels on, I was like ok this aint gonna work. Of course I had to put Blinders on my husband when they walked in.. lol Hubby is racing this weekend, his last race at VIR track in southerm Virginia. I am off Monday, but will take tomorrow for ME.. lol catch up on my reading. I just got the book in Addiction by Precription someone suggested on here to get, I will start that and finish A Purpose Driven Life'.
How about you my friend? What's on yours?

Brook:
I slept until 10:00 also. WTF? I am wiped out.
Rachel
Rachel for me, it is several things, the wonderful fall weather here in VA, windows opened, with 78 quilts on top of me, the whole bed to myself, no snoring. Hubby is gone for the weekend, and I have been putting in a lot of hours at work. Sat in the traffic from HELL last night living here in DC area, for over 2 hrs,. had to 'you know what' but no way was I getting out of line to find a bathroom, I just held it, drove into my neighborhood, got out of car and let her rip. Then drove on home..
Brook..
Like Lisa said,, body is telling us we need it.. And I do listen to my body now, I didn't use too, I used to just keep on pushing. No more..

It's beautiful here in Los Angeles. Clear skies. I am just wiped out. I am more tired from sleeping so long. You're right my body is telling me to slow down. I have Endometreosis and sometimes, like these past few days, it kicks my a**.

Dear Brook:
I slept 'til 10 this morning. At my age - I never do that anymore. I thought the clock was wrong but it did feel good - got 10 hours of good clean sleep.
We're into racing, will he be on TV? What kind of racing does he do, I guess I should ask first. I hated it 'til my son got me into it and now I'll sit and fuss at the TV more than my husband - he fusses at the football games. haha
Love,
Jean

Sorry Jean didn't see the racing part.. no he will not be on TV .. only time is when they go to the runoffs at midOhio. Then he will be on. If he goes next yr. He is seriously thinking about dumping the Nationals and go back to Regionals, he misses his friends immensly and with Nationals, the good ole network just isn't there, they don't want to share anything. Meaning. Help each other out. The competition is fearce, so he ran a few Regionals this yr and may decided to go back to the camaraderie that is there.. The reason he left in the first place is he was winning every race in his class and had no competition, at least at Nationals, they all give you a run for your money. He has been coming in second and third all yr, So that part he liked, but not having the good ole boys there to 'play' with is what he misses.. How precious is that.. LOL..
He races as a hobby, this is his passion.

Dear Brook:
I needed that wake-up call this morning.
Does it just scare the crap out of you when he's racing? I can't even imagine.
My son is a firefighter and e'time I see him, I say "don't run into any burning buildings" I also tell him try not to show up at the car accidents first. He just laughs. I asked if it would help if I called his chief and asked him these questions. He laughs again - Talk abouit crazy - this may just do it for me - he told me of some of the stuff while he was volunterring and I had to ask him to start telling his Father. It bothered me that he was seeing these things. When he told me that he was at the window of the passenger at an accident and telling the guy to just be still, help was coming and the guy just jumped out of the window - a grown man from a passenger wondow and hit the ground - my son checked his pulse and he was gone. I told my son that the man probably never knew anything, thinking my son wouldn't have nightmares. I asked him the next morning of it bothered him and he said no, Mom, I've seen stuff like that already, I just knew you saw it on the news, he said that's why he told me, he then had to direct traffic which I don't want him in the middle of the road, either - haha
He was more shocked that the driver who he then went to who was alert and air-lited had died from internal injuries. He said that guy seemed fine, talking and assuring them he was fine - didn't even want to go to the hospital, said the helicopter was really ridiculous. You just don't know.
He is now on our side of town and I have heard stories of firefighters showing up at accidents where they know the people. That would have to be hard.
Sorry this is his 1st paid fireman day - when he was volunteering, I think as much is not expected of them.
So, I'll stop rambling. When you said race car driver, now I would be scared to death, not just worrying.
So, I need to get over it - he has - I call him an ambulance chaser.
Love, Jean
Hope your husband wins and hope you have gotten used to it (if that's possible)

Hi there...sorry, I started this thread and then had to leave for the day.
I got tired of the trying to find a good housekeeper too. They never do it the way I want it done and are never on time or cancel just before a dinner party. I gave up. We finally get to a point in our lives where we can afford a house cleaner and I don't want them to do it.
I owe you an email...I'll send it later tonight. We have a costume party to go to at 7. Can't believe I let my husband talk me into this. I usually love this kind of thing but there's always so much drinking and drugs at this paticular house, Kind of upscale druggies.... It doesn't bother me much, just hard to be around sometimes.
Talk to you soon....and hey, thanks for always being there when I need a friend.
Hey Rachel.....you too.
Love
Lisa

Jean, I have gotten used to it at a point, I have seen him win, lose, wreak, roll, etc. but it is out of my hands. I know this is an old adage but the bottom line is he has been doing this for 20 yrs, he knows the risks, he knows what can happen, I have accepted the fact that this is his passion and you just don't think of what could go wrong on the track you think of what is going right. The man is my life, and I support him in whatever endeaver he choses and vice versa. And hey, nothing better than holding the flag and riding with him when he wins on his victory lap. And nothing better when his car breaks or he wreaks, and he needs consoling (wink) ..
Lisa, .. have fun at the party or I guess your there already, so hope you had fun. holy ask me a question then leave my a** all day.. LOL you know I adore you..

Dear Brook,
I know he appreciates you. Just while watching racing now, I see that it's a passion during the interviews. That has to be why the ones who never win keep doing it.
I bet that is the fun part - riding with him on the victory laps, also being there and not fainting during an accident.
I wish for all to find their passion so I am happy he found his and a wife who understands it.
I ride on the back of the motorcycle with my husband. He goes much faster than when the kids were young and sometimes, well most of the time we don't even wear our helmets. I feel 21 again. That's fun. It wasn't even fun when I was young but now I guess b/c I'm not worried about 3 little boys without a Mother - I just let my hair blow in the wind.
Next, the Harley. Don't want to pay for it but I know it's coming.
I'm trying to hold him back but I have said, he is the spender.
So just keep having fun,
Love, Jean
