Hey there buddy, I gotta tell you something, for the past few days, I have been seeing Colorado plates EVERYWHERE!!! no kidding... I never,ever noticed them before!! today I seen one at the doggie park that I go to!!! to weird... All you Coloradians are visiting us B.C.ers!!

Hey LD, LOL, maybe the Coloradans are trying to get away from all the tourists here! I swear, I took a walk down the Pearl St mall this morning to get coffee and practically had to elbow tourists out of the way. I wanted to yell, "OK, you can stop looking at the elk statue and move on now! It's just a statue! Go up to Estes Park and you can see a real elk!" LMAO... thanks for thinking of me girl, you have a great weekend too!

Lovedove I went to the capitol today, Ottawa! seen 2 deer on the side of the road and a groundhog !!! bedtime for me ,drove 1083 km today,work said they will give me an easy run till I settle in!!!!!

Hey there Ginge! I once went to Ottawa by train, it was amazing, although it was in the middle of winter, and it was coooold....I laughed when you said you saw a deer and a groundhog!! especially the groundhog! they are considered pests here, to the farmers anyway, They make huge holes in the ground and the cows break their legs, I think they are cute myself!! There is a town in Ontario that holds a groundhog day every year with Willy, I think Willy died this year, but they have one of his siblings, it's adorable!! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying "the land" wait till you come out here!! it will blow your mind and we will definetely have to meet!!
CB and Valarie, this holiday is called a Civic Holiday, or we just say B.C. Day here, I think it's just a holiday they made up!! but I'll ask my Dad later I'm sure he will know!

Hey guys, I've never seen a groundhog (other than Punxatawney Pete, the one in PA on Groundhog Day), but we have lots of prairie dogs here, and they are adorable...Ginge and LD you would both love them! And the other night a big doe and 2 fawns passed right behind my building, it was awesome to see...
Ginge, I wouldn't consider you a tourist here... besides you need a camera and fanny pack to be an official Colorado tourist, LOL. The elk statue is pretty cool but you've gotta see a real one, they are amazing creatures, just huge! And the "bugling" noise the bull elk make during mating season is incredible to hear.

Hi CB, I remember when I went to Jasper it is in the Rocky Mountains, and there is Elk everywhere around there!! they just kinda wonder around the town, they were so beautiful, we camped there and had Elk joining us at our campsite!! :) I'm glad it was Elk and not a Grizzly Bear!! I haven't seen one before, it would be a pretty scarey thing, here in B.C. we have them, but they are in the high country, but we have black bear all over the place, although I haven't bumped into one yet!! I just love all animals!!

Hey Ginge, keep the camera tucked away! LOL. I'm not 100% sure about truck stops here but they've gotta be around, there's lots of highway here. I can try to look into it... hope you're doing well on the roads...
