Co-proxomal

i cam off subutex just over 2 weeks ago and ended up with a terrible case of cystitis that wont go, even after stong antibiotics. i went again to doctor on friday because my back was killing me for no reason and he gave me co-proxomal. i immediately felt better after taking 2. the w/d's i was still getting went then the next day i took 6 over the day and night but didnt feel the same way. i then saw in the leaflet in the co-prox box that one of the ingredients can be addictive. looked up on internet and saw it was an opoid. but i still took it today as had less than 2 hrs sleep last night as hav to keep weeing wiv the cystitis and then straight after i still feel the need to wee again like someone is pulling my bladder out. its much worse when im lying down - so cant sleep and now am tearful and frightened that i am going to withdraw all over again.

purpose of this post is to beg advice from ANYONE out there who has infor on 32.5gms co-prox. is it as bad as other opiates??? or anyone again wiv cystitis - think it may be intestinal (?) cystitis, IC, which i hav read doesnt respond to antibiotics but also has no bacteria in urine and mine last week had white cells in according to doctor. am getting sample bak from hospital tomorrow.

i really wish i had never started this detox. my whole life has fallen around me in last two weeks and i am at my wits end.
This medicine contains two active ingredients, paracetamol and xtropropoxyphene. Paracetamol is a medicine used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It is also useful for reducing fever. It is not fully understood how paracetamol produces these effects. Dextropropoxyphene belongs to a group of medicines called opioids. Opioids mimic the effects of naturally occurring pain reducing chemicals (endorphins) that are found in the brain and spinal cord. They act on the opioid receptors in the brain and block the transmission of pain signals. Therefore, even though the cause of the pain may remain, less pain is actually felt. So to answer your question YES this medication can become addictive. Although Cystitis can be very painful and annoying it does take a few days to clear up once the antibiotics have been started. I would ask your MD for something safe to take that is non-opioid and non-addictive. I hope that this information has helped a bit,,,,,
