What can one expect it quit drinking cold turkey? Vodka is my weakness.
I drink about 14-20 oz. per day. I am now on Buspar but drinking too. Since I start and can't stop until I go to bed, like I said in a previous post, if I just could not start I think I could lick this mess. Will the Buspar be enough to get me thru the withdrawals and cravings? It does help me tremendously with the shakes in the mornings.

For me, I quit cold turkey on a Sunday and got to my GP on a Monday and was referred to an Addicitionoligist who prescribed Librium to me for the first week in tapered down doses. I checked in with her every morning to have my vitals checked for 8 days in a row. I also began attending AA meetings the same Sunday I quit (11/22/03) and also began work with a Psychologist who I saw for a few months.
