have any of you had these? I saw my dr today, and got a shot in the neck. It feels better...I am tired of the achiness, although sub is good at keeping that at bay.
It is time to make the jump, though....cobra didn't go through yet and a month of sub is 321. a month....OH MY.
I hope everyone is well...I am doing okay and studing my butt of. I have a test tomarrow...and let's hope I can pull of another 90, not a 65......:0)
Peace.
Kerry
Kerry,
A, B, C... what the hell, you're still in the top 3!
Good luck sweetie. Hope the shot helped with the pain.

Kerry,
May I ask what degree you are going for. I'm right there with you, studying my butt off for a test tomorrow. I'm going for AA's in both Business Administration and Criminal Justice. Than I have to decide what I want to be when I grow up (at age 45). Good luck on your test.

Hey Kerry. I've had a cortizone shot in my shoulder and Man Alive! it hurt! Of course, I despise needles of any kind, so I'm sure that was part of it. I screwed up my left shoulder, so my doctor suggested the shot. It did relieve the pain, but I'll have to be hurting pretty bad, before I get another one. As for the achiness... any kind of steroid makes me feel that way. I always feel like I'm bruised all over. Prednisone is the worst, but sometimes, I can't avoid it. I hope you feel better and good luck on your test tomorrow.

Kerry, the only time I've let anyone get near my spinal cord with a needle was in the third hour of intense labor, lol.
Good luck on your test.

I used to get 26 shots in my head once a month (yes, my head) and when I was playing I would get shots twice a week when my knees were acting up. They stop working after a while.
YES...it did hurt. It burned. My neck feels alot better....
Soccermom...they don't do epidurals here. I see women give birth on TV with those; that's CHEATING...lol. They don't have the trained staff on the island. So, to be an epidural giver (whatever you call them..lol...anesthiaologist?) would be a good career move.
Miss Molly, I haven't checked my mail....I have been so busy. I will check today; the emails were going through fine.
CO, i am trying to finish up my prerequisites for nursing (did I spell that right? It is amazing how I lost the ability to spell...lol) and I have a ways to go. Right now I am taking biology and psychology, and finding the time to study is the hard part...
I hope you all are okay. Cadeadhead, how is NY? I am so jealous of your ability to be bicoastal...the best of both worlds. I hope your recovery is good....
Peace.

I had one in my knee once. I overdid my PT after surgery. It took 4 people to hold me down. They gave me two injections. The doctor was not very nice who did it. I have had 5 surgeries on that knee that were easier than those two shots! lol. It really did help afterwards. And I wouldn't mind having another but the trauma that doc did to me makes it so when they get ready to give it to me I get pale and I cannot do it. It's almost comical in a sick kind of way. Noone can figure how they can lay it open and do a major operation but one shot and I'm not able to get through it. I wish I could just pass out long enough for them to get it over with but they won't go through with it. lol. I don't blame them. Sweat pours off my body and I become like a caged wild animal. hahaha. I did have a needle in my spine once also for an lp and I did fine with that. Of course I was nervous but it was okay.
I'm glad it's helping. Sure helped me when I overdid it. Wonder how it would be now.

You must have a cool life flipper. I met Mark Davis and got to go to a Raider's game once....in the sky box! It was sooo cool. That was the life I was supposed to live ...not this one..lol.

Amy, I can relate...it took me a huge growth spurt to get me where I am today...LOL. I used to faint when I got blood taken....I fainted 4 times. When I was 10, I was getting a shot from my dr, and picked up a garbage can in the room...held it in front of me, and ran out of the room..lol. I am TERRIFIED of needles. But, it has gotten a lot better. I just don't look at the shot. And yes, he didn't tell me how painful it was, or I wouldn't have done it...lol. It burns. It is worth it, though. For now.
How is PT going?

Good for you Kerry, we always need more caring people in the healthcare field. I thought about that at one point, but couldn't get past the bodily fluid part of it. I am such a wuss when it comes to that. I'm 45 and have never changed a dirty diaper. :D Again, good luck on the exam.
Thanks, CO...that is if I make it that far..;0) Body fluids make me sick also...I am hoping to something along those lines. Radiology looks really cool, and it has almost the same prerequisites...only more math.

Another thing to look into might be Respiratory Therapy, more of a demand in that field everyday, at least here on the right coast. I hate math, I'm finishing up Algebra this semester, I have to take Statistics and Math for Finances next. YUK!
Tomorrow is my last PT session before surgery. We had good response with the shoulder. Still hurts but I can deal with it. But my good knee is a mess and so I'm' moving on with surgery 12/7. First I'm going to see my surgeon in Indiana before I let anyone open up my only knee left. But I have a feeling he's going to tell me it's the best we can do to keep me walking. So I'm prepared and ready to get on with it. I knew the consequences when I had the accident. All this was explained to me. I just never expected it to happen. lol! Well here I am and I have to wake up and make the best choices I can with what I have. Whatever happens I'll make work the very best I can because I always do. So I know I'll have a good outcome. And the 7th will be here before I know it won't it? Smile. Thanks for asking.
Hey you do good on the test tomorrow. I'm proud of you for going back to school. I know it isn't always easy. The path seems to get covered with leaves sometimes but just keep walking on it Kerry because the wind blows and soon the leaves clear and you'll see where you are going. The path is just the journey so take some time to let the sun hit your face along your walk. And don't forget to look up because sometimes you catch a shooting star at just the right moment. Don't worry just keep moving and it's all going to be okay. You'll see. I'm smiling at ya.

Hey Kerry...I have my fingers crossed for that 90, not 60...you said you're going to jump off the sub..how much are you on now? Are you still getting the support you need through meetings and a sponsor?
good luck on the test hon.

Hey Kerry, How are you?? My doctor gave me a shot when I tore my rotator. It hurt like hell but helped so much. I wanted to get another one after a month but he wouldn't give me one. He said I would have to wait another 3 months before he would shoot me again. WTF??? He didn't seem to have a problem with giving me as much vicodin as I wanted. Well he didn't give me quite as much as I wanted. He told me I needed an operation but I never got it. After a couple of months the shoulder got better so I never went back.
Its nice to see you Kerry and good luck on the test. I'm thinking maybe a 98.

Hey Ker-
When my GP suggested pain mgmt about 2 years ago now, first of all he UPPED my percocet doseage - then suggested spinal epideral blocks. It wasnt cortizone - actually I dont know what it was, but the first one worked miraculously. I awoke the next morning, actually able to jump right out of bed, intstead of slowly rolling and slowly getting up. But then, the wierdest thing happened. Well, after that first morning and the second as well, the pain slowly began to return and after the second round of shots, I felt SOOOO wierd. When I called and told the dr. what had happened, he non chalantly (SP) said "Oh, that sometimes happens if the medicine leaks into your system". Well that was the end of the shots for me. However, I DID have a spinal epideral with my 2nd daughter (almost 15 yrs ago) - it did help the pain, but seemed to slow down the dilation and she came out with her head shaped like a football !!! LOL
Anyhow, nice talking to you and good luck on your next test. I havent heard from you in awhile - my email is still purplerain062@yahoo.com. Let me know how things are going for you. Miss you.
Love,
Marie

I had a total of 4 cortizone shots in a year.........they did it in my lower spine, but I had gone into the hospital..( actually they preped me like having surgery)..luckily they gave me valium and morphine....it had hurt a bit, but I think I was more nervous about hitting the wrong spot, but they watched on a monitor.........the only reason we stopped doing so and I went to pain management was due to the fact I had had my limit....don't want my bones to fall apart to early..........I say try what ever it takes, having toradol shots help also...Good luck
