Could I Be Experiencing Withdrawal??

i am 18 years old, in the past i drank with friends about once every 2 months. Over christmas break, i drank 6 times in 2 weeks. By drink i mean 12+ drinks, then throughout the month of january i drank 2 times each weekend. February i decided to quit drinking. Ever since early february i have been experiencing nausa an anxiety episodes. its like im extremelly nervous for no reason, and i have butterflies in my stomach really bad, my hands get sweaty and just recently my legs will shake a little. I've been feelin real uneasy lately too. Im taking the anti-depresent zoloft to treat for a panic dissorder. part of me is afraid that the zoloft is responsible for my condition. my question is, could i become addicted to alcohol in one month? and then experience withdrawal after stopping? alcoholism runs in my family too. and could zoloft be doing this to me? any information would be greatly appreciated, i dont want to talk to my parents or a docter about this for the obvious reason that im underage.
Hi confused, what you are experiencing is not withdrawal and no, at your age especially, you would not become a "full blown alcoholic" in one month. Your symptoms definitely sound like anxiety/panic symptoms and/or a reaction to the Zoloft. Talk to your physician about these possible causes.........the alcohol may not even need to come up with your doctor (although I always advocate for total honesty with physicians).......

P.S. You have good reason to be concerned about possibly becoming an alcoholic from drinking alot because it runs in your family --- you definitely are at risk for eventually getting in big trouble with alcohol....

Good luck!

Be well,
