Countdown To Quit

Hey Kat:

I started this thread for us to keep track of one another and support, and some general bitching we may need to do!

Have a good day, I gotta make my oatmeal! hahaha, oatmeal everyday these days, God, I am old!

Ewwwww I buy oatmeal and tell myself I am going to eat it every day and I do eat it every day for one day. My new thing is English muffins and cream cheese. Not too thrilled with it but it fills me.
My lungs feel like crap again. I've been smoking about 3 weeks and it didn't take long for me to feel icky again. Good news is I've lost 5 of those pounds I couldn't get rid of. 3 to go.
Kat:

This is what I put in my oatmeal.

Fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, half a banana, and today, some dark red plum. Then vanilla low fat yogurt and a dollop of honey on top! It is hardly ewwwwww...it is more like aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. hahahahaha.

Just plain old oatmeal....not so good!

It is so good for your arteries...which I have a little elevated cholesterol. Nothing I need meds for, yet....so, I gotta try. The dark berries for our feeble minds and antioxidants, the strawberries, cause I am a southerner!, and the honey for my sinuses. The yogurt is really good, and it has all the cultures for your blood, or whatever! hahaha. I just make it taste good!

Try it. However, I love a bagel and cream cheese, but I drink half and half in my coffee...so I have to try and stay away from too much dairy as I drink A LOT of coffee!

Ciao bella! Congrats on losing that weight. I am going to join a gym next week...I have never belonged to a gym, but I am going to join and hire a personal trainer because I don't know crap about those machines. I gotta do something because even though I started smoking again, I didn't lose an ounce of weight! Well, in Louisiana, I had a lot of french bread, fried oysters, shrimp, etouffee, gumbo, good, good, food! I enjoyed it and am not gonna feel bad about it, just gotta do something about it!

What's etouffee?
Work the steps, Kathi....if you truly want to quit, do it just like it was your DOC...I have two friends in the fellowship, long time smokers that applied the steps and they both have over a year smoke free....I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't watched it happen....

And remember to pray, baby, pray....

Big smooches,
Stacey
If you were my friend, Stacey, you would quit with me. How's that for old behavior?
LMAO....when I get my raise, I'll quit with you <BEG>
Just wanted to wish you girls luck and tell you that I love you! See you next week! Are you quitting too, Stacey?
You are down to hours, my friend!

I am rooting for you.....deep, deep, deep in my heart!

Love.

Sarah
Kat:

Where Ya'at????

What's happening with you?

Me.
Just read that other post....ettouffe is a gravy based soup served over rice.

I say gravy, but it is a tomato based gravy...start with a light roux, not dark, like you use in gumbo. It has all the veggies: celery, onion, bell pepper, bay leaf, garlic, etc...but you add either tomatos or tomato paste, whichever...it has lemon in it too...and it usually has either shrimp or crawfish...but never mixed! hahaha...not in south Louisiana anyway.

It is very good! I will make you some when you quit smoking and you will actually be able to taste it.

So, how are you doing? Still smoking? I forgot to start the dad gum Chantix this morning, but I am starting it tomorrow morning. I laid it out by the coffee pot!

Update me on you!

Where are you with the quit????

s.
I posted on the good morning thread but I put the patch on and it made me icky so I bought cigs instead. I'm going to put another one on in the morning and try again.
