Is this totally surreal for anyone else? Like, it's not physical withdrawal or anything else.... but when I think about the idea of craving, sometimes I can't believe it. The obsession and this almost biological need for the medication. I'm just sort of babbling, but I really can't get over how it just takes over - no matter how much you intellectualize or try to be rational - it's so powerful and strange.
I dunno... Just thinking. It's late.

SP.........You might want to check out a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.This is exactly what they are for.You can get support F2F from people who are going through the same thing or have been there.It will allow you to get out of yourself for a brief period.
No one expects anyone to do this alone.The cravings become too much and most people cave during this critical time.
The cravings do get better but for now.........it's going to be tough.The monkey on your back is hanging on for dear life.You're going to need the support of others to help beat him off.
There is no reason to think you have to be a martyr.
There is only one thing we have to change.......Everything

I went to my first meeting last week and I have to say I was a little overwhelmed. I am definitely going to start going to more (I really have to - I know it's part of the hollistic process that this is) but I just got really nervous.

I have needed this for the last couple of days and have been dragging my feet...... I need to try to find a meeting closer to work so I don't miss quite so much time. Owning (partner) my own business is a plus, but driving an hour each way to my home meeting a couple of times a week sure takes a lot of time out of the day.
Anyway, thanks. Now I don't have an excuse in my addicted little head not to call.

I called the number and found out that I AM going to the meeting closest to my work. Oh well. I live in the largest city in the area, which is where the meetings are, and my shop is an hour away in a pretty small town. I was just assuming (I know, I know) that there would be meetings in that town too.....
Glad I don't live and work an hour away from the meetings!!!
MAN, rural living blows...... I love the big cities. Growing up in Detroit you had access to anything, any time. Good for using, but also good for support.
