Good morning from Pompano beach Florida--WOW what a MESS.
Broward County got hit the worst. Hope all floridians are O.K.
I have been taking cymbalta for 7 days--30mg tonight start 60mg.
Has anyone been on it for a while? I was told it would take a few weeks not a month or more like most A/D to kick in.
Any info much appreciated --TIA--Jeff
jeff,

Hi terrianne--I spaced out and forgot whether to take in the morning or night. Pharmacist says it effects people different. Have been taking it at night.
Trying to reach my Doctor today. Were you put on it for Bi Polar?
I have ben depressed for months. How long did it take before you felt better?
Thanks--Jeff

jeff,
yes i am bi polar and i dont remember exactly how long it took me to notice the change but i remember it was not very long at all i want to say with in a couple weeks. i do remember when i was put on them i felt like a complete mess. it was around last year at this time. i have been really stable ever since. one time i waited a few days to get a refill on them on the weekend, that was a bad idea, my body wasnt very happy.

Hello Sub,
I am sorry you were hit so hard with the hurricane. Our prayers are with all of you. I was prescribed Cymbalta for pain/depression. It is suppose to be successful with some patients that are dealing with pain issues. Unfortunatly I was not able to stay on it, the side effects were difficult. I might try again after I get off of the Suboxene. Please keep us posted. I hope you are feeling well soon. Take care, Best Wishes

Hey Jeff;
My DR asked me to think about it - he knows I have had adverse effects to every
AD I have ever tried since 30's when my pain started.
He said this newest one makes people happy, not just helps w/depression.
I have a sample.
I'm glad you posted this - maybe I will try after reading this post -
Thanks Terriane, I like to hear of ones who are taking.
Do they make you feel "happy" as my doctor says?.
I have tried them for years to sleep - and when I hurt I get depresses but all AD have really freaked me out where they make most people sleep.
I would love for this one to work for you, me and e'one.
B'Wishes, you said you had side effects - are you normally able to take other AD?
Really sorry about the hurricne. Hope e'one gets back to normal there soon.
Have a scarey Halloween, hha
Love, Jean

Sweet Boo:
That would be wonderful - I tried it all too - Wellbutrin was the last one -
I will take one in the morning. I know my doctor would be so happy if I could take it.
He says it's different than the others. He is one of the good doctors who really wants to help.
It's still better if you know someone who takes it and it works for them - mostly when other kinds haven't.
Thanks Doll.

jean me to tried them all. My doctor is more concerned about my depression than anything .
In a few days I will have 180 days clean time. But in reality it started in june of 2004. Clean time? I want happy time. Then I will count days. But Patience is what I have been told. I am working on being patient and having faith in my doctors.
This next 2-3 weeks will be tough as I will be juiced up on prednisone and have to go through a whole weaning program. SUCKS BIG TIME
Today is a good day. Not really depressed at all. Very tired.
I pray this A/D helps me. Because my depression is really bad.

Hello Everyone,
I have also been on alot of AD, but most of them had too many side effects. I felt like I had been hit by a truck lololol, and I looked like it too. Even when taken at night. Some also made me soooooo hungry, well if I gain alot of weight, that makes me depressed lololol. I may try Cymbalta again, after I get off of the Suboxene. I was sweating profusely, which is mainly caused by the Suboxene. I usually never sweat. It has almost stopped since I stopped the Cymbalta. I could not get a "good night" sleep on Cympalta. I also had "ticks", I would wake up ticking and jerk around through the day. I don't know why that was happening. I was also on Serequel for a couple weeks. Maybe combined, like Terraine said, would have helped w/sleeping. I have wierd reactions too most drugs. I can't take any migraine meds, or I feel like I am having a heart attack. So I am not a good example. But I am glad it works for others. And who knows, I may give it another try after I wean off of the Suboxene. I hope it helps you, Subman. I hope you find those "happy days" soon. I know what you mean, I am at about 90 days. I have alot of good days, but those bad days, wow, I feel like a lunatic in my head. So ancy and anxious. I have to run to an AA Meeting and relax and tire myself out. Sorry to ramble. Have a Happy Halloween. Take care, Best Wishes

Terrianne If I ever had another child I would call it Serequel.
Although for me it caused my cholesterol to jump I take vytorin and it keeps it in check. Prednisone screws up your levels as well.
I could not sleep for years. Was taking 100mg but lately 200.
People who are new to cleaning up there lives for first time thing logically what did we destroy as our drug usage escalated.
Sleep patterns-food--vitamins--we destroyed our bodies. I believe if I did not change my eating patterns take vitamins and SLEEP most important I know exercise 20+ minutes. Do you see the pattern I am trying to set?
It has to work.

hahaha jeff cute name your kid serequal, i know what you mean, i can't believe how good i feel with the combo of meds i am on, for the first time in my life. it's great. Bwishes is right about the ticks, i do on occassion get those every once in a great while, just here and there, nothing terrible or bothersome, just out of the blue a twitch or two. the way i feel it's nothing i am willing to give up the meds for thats for sure.
