Day4 No Subs!!!(feeling Fine By The Way!!!!)

Well am into day4,(89hrs)(time in uk now is 8am)feel fine, abit tired but what a relief!!yesturday,at about 9am suddenly felt loads of excess energy, bit of nerves i think added to that, had a great day,got 9hrs sleep last night, feel like this is a new beginin and have loads of confidence in my strength&all the worry i had about getting off the buggers was soooo unnecessary and was probably worse than the physical detox!!Am goin to sub doc today to get drug test that will come out negative,so an extra boost. So just lettin all you others that have been worrying about getting off the subs, that when the time comes ITS NOT THAT BAD!

after tapering down, quick summary from day1-the first 24hrs is mental determination not to take any sub, felt abit tired, didnt sleep great that night, restless, headache, dodgy tummy,day2 very lethargic, achy, burning headache, but found that this came and went, didnt sleep well that night, got myself abit panicy worrying bout the next day.Day3 woke up feeling abit restless, but after 70/72hrs felt everything lift&was fine!!!

So it seems ive done it,am still abit apprehensive, have it in my head that it should have been harder, especially what other people have said about their experiences, but lets see what my sub doc says when i see her later.

I hope that all those who were worrying can take my experience&feel better, people were so right when they were saying to me that we make things worse in our heads, the mental stress i put on myself was worse than anything else, think that was because i was going into the unknown, but ive come out the other end wondering what all the fuss was!!hopefully that was that&now i will only get better&can start looking forward to havin my baby like a normal person!!

Thanks all for your encouragement&caring, its made alot of difference. x
Congratulations, Vikky! I'm glad you're feeling so well.

What kind of face-to-face support do you have in place? Do you go to meetings or see a therapist? Dealing with the issues that led me to use drugs in the first place is an essential component of my continued sobriety.

Cheers,
Gina
Congrats Vicky!!!!!!!

I am so glad you posted your experience with this, I have been waiting for someone from the board to do exactly what you have done. It is a huge relief to me to have someone else on here tapered off the Sub and had it be a simple experience. Boosts my spirits to see that it CAN be done and it does not have to be aweful.

Thanks you very much, and congratulations!! (I seem to remember that you are pregnant?)

peaceout

Vikky,

I am so happy for you. I am so happy that you are about to bring a new person into this world. Being a Mom is a wonderful experience.

I am so glad you posted that your suboxone experience was positve. People need to know that it isn't terrible. If you feel crummy, take the suboxone again and ween slower next time. Simple. One of the reasons to take suboxone is so you won't suffer WD's.

I am delighted to hear you are continueing to see your suboxone doctor. We need to keep the relationship with our doctors. You may need pain meds in the future and you will always have your "sub doctor" in your pocket.

Suboxone saved my life. I didn't have any problem tapering down or quitting. I followed my doctors instructions and my taper went smooth as silk.

Vicky, glad to hear that you are doing well. You are right we can physic ourselves out mentally to believe that it will be more painful than it actually is. I believe that is what has happened to you!

If you don't mind me asking can you post how exactly you tapered, at what doses and how long it took. I understand completely that last four days...what I was wondering about was prior to that. Your total am complete history on suboxone. It would help so many as there are alot of us now that are tapering and you are such an inspiration. Thank god for you!

Now go have a happy, normal pregnancy!! Yipppeeee
So good to hear a positive story regarding sub taper. I knew there had to be one out there :)

I am hoping it goes as well for me, unfortunately I am still on a constant Merry go round with it.

Way to go

Hugs.
