Hey everybody,
I just wanted to check in. I started a new job this week...and it is going very well.I am taking it as it comes and not getting overwhelmed with all the new info.
This week a notorious serial killer named Danny Rolling was put to death here in Fla. He killed 5 college students (BRUTALLY) @ the Univ. of Florida in the fall of 1990.
Well, I was there during that horrible time; my 1st week away from home....fresh out of high school and everyones 1st week of classes. It was a terrible time filled with fear...such raw ,sheer terror. It really affected me and everyone around at the time.
It has been such a range of emotions with all of the media attention surrounding this case, fear, sadness, anger. They executed him yesterday @6pm and instead of laying on the couch watching all of the news coverage....I got my butt to a 6 pm meeting... and ended up chairing. Man, it was so what I needed.
It is such a relief to have a design for living in place today. Life seems to come at us hard and fast and I like that the new sober me has an automatic flag in place (most of the time ) to do the right thing . And that generally starts with a meeting.
I think of all of you often....I don't get on here as much as I would like to lately.....but you ALL are in my thoughts and prayers.
Carolyn
Carolyn...I feel so lucky and grateful that we have a design to live...that the 12 Steps, the slogans, the promises in the Big Book...help me to live...
It is a simple program...when I don't complicate it...and life goes much smoother when I apply it...Love Gina

Hey Carolyn and Gina, The sense of belonging at the meetings was the clincher for me because i thought i was so different to everyone because of my drinking, so when i heard the sharing at my first meeting i knew i was no longer alone in my insanity and from there the miracle of life and living has got better and better and will do more as long as i work at it and i only put about a third of the effort that i put into drinking into recovery, so yeah life is sweet and so are you ladys.
