Detoxing From Methadone

Thank you Ali for responding to my post telling my story. You asked if detoxing off methadone was as hard of detoxing off lortabs. YES, only much worse. Looking back on it, when I went on methadone, I was taking about 10 7.5mg lortabs a day. The withdrawals would have been hard, but I know it wouldn't have been as bad as the w/d from methadone. I know because I detoxed off the lortabs a few times before going on methadone. The methadone is supposed to help you get off pills, but in my case all it did was replace one drug for another. The methadone was much stronger then the lortabs. I know everyone is different, and what works for one may or may not work for another. But again, I strongly urge anyone thinking of going on methadone to completely research it and think long and hard about it.

Thats what i was thinking, just from having read peoples posts about methadone...the w/d would be worse.

Goes to show you just how strong you are Shelly....

Im in the worst mood today and have far too many emtions to deal with...Im looking forward to being OFF the taper and fast forawrding 3-6 months down the road...You inspire me!!!

Thanks for sharing your story.now go make your home Christmasy for your daughter, and make a gingerbread house or something..lol..wish I had a child to preoccupy me right now...force me to be in the spirit...
