Just wondering if anyone else has been detoxed off of narcotics with the use of Subcutex aka Suboxone. I went through drug detox 3 months ago and have now been clean for 3 months. I went to a detox center and was put on Subcutex and after leaving was put on Suboxone. I had to stop taking Suboxone before my physician wanted me to due to side effects. My detox was terribly hard, as I was terribly ill. I have been diagnosed with cancer and was on Morphine Patches, Morphine Suckers and Percocet, of course that was after being on Vicodin, Oxyconton and numerous other drugs. Personally, I felt like the Subcutex helped with the detox process, but was put on the maintanence program to avoid secondary withdrawl. I stopped the Subcutex because I was having too many side effects and fortunately did not go through secondary withdrawl other than craving. Each day is a struggle, but so far I have remained clean, just wondering if anyone else has gone through this process with Subcutex.
yes...I just did, about 6 weeks ago. The subutex worked great, but I felt like crap about 2 days out (no maint. drugs...suboxune, etc...) and have not made much progress...then again, I am now being treated for depression and anxiety, so I'm not sure which is which. I really don't feel any better taking my meds for the Depression/Anxiety than when I don't so I think it must be PAWS. I hope it fades soon so I can go back to work and start my life over.
JLB,
It seems we're posting to each other's topics. I too suffer from depression and bipolar. I'm not sure if it was the drugs or what because I haven't experienced the bipolar since being clean. The depression on the other hand I have experienced. You might want to check in to other medications for depression if it seems what you are taking isn't working. Personally, going through detox is a depressing event and your body and mind have to catch up to being clean in order to get back to "normal." It takes time, but it will get better.
