My name is Heather and I AM an addict
this year has been great so far. I've gotten a sponsor that i can work with. Im doing what I need to to live clean. She is so impressed with my leaps and bounds that she is anxious now for me to start step work.
Had an anxious wanna use day yesterday. First time this yr i craved. Got through it with exercise and a call to a friend in the program...my sponsor was at work.
I joined the gym to get healthy and feel better about myself. On Jan 5/11 I finally had that ahhhahhhhh moment. I broke down and prayed for guidance and 2 mins later complete calm came over me...for the first time since I started the recovery journey did i actual surrender and admitted my total powerlessness to mood altering substances. Amazing feeling.
Life isnt going to be easy but i'm building the tools to cope. Thanks to all those that believed in me and continued support.
