Don't Ever Forget

Several days back, a few of you were posting about those horrible using days...those things you hope that you will never forget. I'm here to tell you that even if you only have one day clean or many months clean...don't forget. And don't give it all up for any reason. Don't forget the terrible desperation. The feelings of despair because the pills no longer "work" for you...yet you take one more hoping that you can feel good again. You take one more, not remembering the time of your last dose...hoping that this "one more" will not be enough to cause you to OD. Hoping it won't kill you, yet at the same time, praying that it does, hoping it won't, praying that it does.....and on and on...and then wondering if you even care...the mind games last forever. So no matter how many clean days you have, don't forget that no amount of pills will ever erase the pain...only compound it in the long run.

So no matter how many clean days you have, just don't forget these kinds of feelings. I can't forget no matter how hard I try...I am living them every minute of every day.

Have a good night everyone.
Jodi, you doin okay?

(Im not forgetting)
thank you Jodi...very good post!
Hi Jodi,
You are so right, we should never forget. thats why hearing others stories about addiction is a help to us so we never forget where we came from!!
I can relate to all you said, I am so glad to be off that Rat Race and to finally have some inner peace.....That alone is enough for me to stay clean...
All the Best.Shel
Jodi...I know where you're coming from...I don't want you to forget something. You are worth this. No one has the right to beat you down and try to make you feel like you aren't.

I am your life line...I meant that.

Looking forward to the rest of that email....
