Hey Best Wishes!
How are you????
Cuddles,
Please make sure you do this under a physician's supervision. Sounds like you are which is great. It is very important given your circumstances and med. history. BW gave you painaid.com which is actually painaid.org and a wonderful site for people in chronic pain. There is a nurses corner there and they have a whole section devoted to the patch. It is not an addiction site but a chronic pain support site with loads and loads of resources for many different areas. The patch being one. You can get off them. Takes a little time and planning but very possible. Hang in there.

thank you so much, all of you for your advise! i plan to do this with my dr. she is great! the pain clinic is who did this. i guess you could honestly say i'm from missouri, lol. now i see!!! i just told her that if she didn't help my i was going to do it on my own. thats because someone told me the dr may not want to loose me as a patient, but as i said i have many other health problems theres no chance of that. I just wanted her to know i am serious about getting off them now. how long does it take to get out of your system?
Well that all depends on how long it takes to get it weaned off. Don't worry about how long okay??? Just know that you are doing it and you will get there and do it safely with the help of your doc. You don't need to put yourself in any undo risk and you got your doc on your side. So there is no huge rush. Just trust you are getting off and let it happen in due time. There are things she can do to help you through the process that she may want to so you do not withdrawl so badly and this is not a bad idea. So breathe, relax and congrats for taking these steps. You have the ball in motion now trust the process and go with it.

i know i nedd to slow down, but i am so ready to be me again. i was just told by some people on here it thakes ABOUT somewhere around a week. i was just courious as to what your opion was. than you for your support. beleive me it's so much more than i get here at home. again ty!
I would say more like 2 wks. and you will probably take a couple of months to be your old self again. I know you want it faster but it takes time. I forget how long you have been on it. Just hang in there though and do not let yourself get down about it. And do not cold turkey it or it will be miserable. Stay with your doc on this one. You need the support. The patch is a tough one.

Hi cuddles I just seen your post now I was on fentenol patch 75s same as you and I also had perks for breakthrough pain When I took the patch off I noticed that it took about a day before the withdrawls really started to kick in I dont know what they did to you but my periods stopped and I went menopausal on them I agree you should ween off under a docters care and dont worry about how long it takes those patches are extreamly strong and weening off under a doctors care is definatly the best way to go when it comes to that strenth of a patch. Are you on the patch alone or does the doctor give you something for the breakthrough pain as well? Those patches are horrible and I felt like total s*** on them, you will feel alot better when you are clean from them, and you will probably notice that alot of your pain came from the patches cause when your starting to withdrawl from them your body aches and you were saying that they didnt last the whole 72 hours and the pain you felt was most likly the beginning of withdrawl. Let us know what this other doctor your going to see to get off them says and what kind off a plan he or she gives you to get off them. All the best and stay positive . Tracey
