You're right, I just don't want him chased away. Hoping if he keeps reading the board he may identify. That's all. I just don't want him to feel as if he is just getting beat up here. But, you're right. He does use a lot of narcotics, justified or not, it will kill him someday.

Hey Liz, I don't think anyone can run Roger off. Hopefully he will read something here oneday that will sink in, if you know what I mean. He just kills me with the way he starts threads and then runs off. Maybe he needs to log on as Troll the next time he decides to show up... I'd love to help this dude, but he just keeps justifying his use and until he decides to help himself, there is not too much we can do for him.

If you can take the drugs EXACTLY as prescribed without ever upping the dose on your own, then PERHAPS you are chemically dependant. However, if you up the dose on a whim for the buzz or whatever reason, then chances are you are an addict just like the rest of us. Only you can decide. However, you keep coming back to this site stating you are not an addict. Are you having doubts? Keep comin back, Rog, maybe you will hear something you want/need to hear and decide you are just like us and ARE able to get clean.

Hi, I am new here, just thought I would drop in and give it a go. I have to admit Rodger's flippant attitude is outrageously funny, but not the fact that he uses so many narcotics. As for Reddog's comment, hmmm, funny that you would be in such an almighty position to judge, considering you could be projecting your own beliefs about yourself. Just a ta-ta thought to ponder.

Thats quite a pharamacy that your "dependent on".
Maybe I missed it, but explain to me the difference of being dependent on the plethora of drugs you mentioned and being addicted??

i always thought being dependant meant depending or needing something.
likewise addiction to narcotics means needing them........a bit black and white, but there you go.
my g/f was dependant on morphine and methadone (and a whole other mess of drugs)but all these were prescribed for severe pain relief........where as i was addicted to heroin................we both needed our drugs every day.........the only difference was my g/f was prescribed hers and monitored extremely closely.
to me the difference between being dependant and addicted is a fine line.....only you,yourself can know the difference..........

I'm gonna tell my kids immmediately! I wasn't neglecting them because I was an addict after all. I couldn't have been doing that, 'cuz I'm just dependant!
