Can anyone tell me how long it actually takes for your body to be rid of pain pills? Thank you so very much for your answers. My body hurts so much that it is simply awful. Each and every bone in my bod is killing me. I feel as though someone beat me up with a 4x4.
TAS,
Everyone is different, so the amount of time you will be in withdraw could be as little as a few days, to a few weeks. It depends on the amount you were using, and how long. The physical symptoms generally last no more then two weeks, but there are exceptions. The mental stuff kicks in after we start feeling better. Thats when the cravings kick in high gear, and we start to rationalize our drug use, and try to convince ourselves that this time it will be different, or that we can control it. That is when face to face support is invaluable.
Hot baths, rest, and lots of water to flush your body out. Good luck, you will feel better soon.

Michelle, thank you so much for encouraging me! It really means a lot and I thank you big time! Just keep your fingers crossed for me that every bone in my body will stop hurting soon?
Keep going TAS.......keep on going.
I used to hate when somebody would say to me "This too shall pass", but it does and like Pale said like two weeks............the insomnia always got me the most..........the physical aches and yucky hurting bone thing........I'd tell myself I had the flu and the flu goes away........on it's own.
Thinking of ya and hang tough TAS!

Your welcome TAS,
Try taking short walks too. I laid on the couch for two weeks and griped about how bad I felt, and I think I prolonged that because of just laying there. I did keep going to work, but when I wasn't there, my rear end was flat out on the couch. I had bowel issues for months, but I think that is because I refused to take Immodium AD. As soon as it goes into my mouth, I vomit. LOL It's awful, but it will ease up. Once you start moving around, taking part in your normal daily activities it will give you longer and longer bits of time where your not thinking about how yucky you feel. That is one of the reasons I went to work, although I only worked two and half days a week then. My boss knew what was going on, so he was really cool about it. I wasn't very productive, but it made the time go by. Time is not your friend when your withdrawing. LOL
Hang in there, your doing great.
