Ginge, Way to go....one year is such a big deal! You did exactly the right thing, unfortunately I don't think the "committee" in our head ever shuts up. The disease of alcoholism is "cunning, baffling and powerful", just laying in wait...so this past year you've learned coping tools and it sounds like you thought the drink all the way through...it's the first drink that gets us drunk....and one is never enough, at least for me! So proud of you!

Give it your best shot with the cigs....my BF stopped for 6 months and started back, it started with one here and there (sneaking around his family, he didn't have to sneak around with me, even though I'm a non-smoker I'd rather be in a relationship with a clean and sober person who smokes than a active drunk/addict who doesn't smoke). Maybe try taking it one day at a time approach with the cigs; but don't be too hard on yourself. Take it easy.
