Ginge, Hang in there buddy, there is nothing I believe, nothing that a drink will make better....if you do pick up you most likely well end up right where you ended and most likely worse, believe me, I've seen it time and time again and over the 20 years I tried to get sober I can attest that this is the case. Do you really have another recovery in you, we've all got another drunk in us...but another recovery....hmmm, not so likely....remembers this too shall pass.....sorry to come off as hard, but there are way too many people dying from this fatal disease out there, and it is no joke....it's way easier to stay sober then get sober!

Saw your post on the other thread. Buddy dang - I don't know what's going on in your life right now but whatever problems you are facing a drink is only going to give you one more gigantic problem on top of what ever is going on.
The real you knows life wasn't better when you were drinking - that is your addiction talking.
You probably feel like a pressure cooker about to burst its lid - I know that feeling it sucks - you gotta find another way to release that energy. Anyway you can rent a bike and go for long ride leave all your troubles behind for a while? I know you love the bikes...
I know you are not an AA'er but it might help to go to a couple of meetings - even if just to meet a few sober people you can talk to and unload on just while you get through this period.
you encouraged me so much Ginge last year all the struggles I had - I want to see you beat this.
Its just one day at a time Ginge - don't look too far ahead. One day at a time.

I just wanted you to know you are in my prayers...Idgie had a great suggestion of maybe going to a meeting and talking with some others about your feelings...I know a lot of times just going to a meeting and listening can change my whole perspective....

Hang in there buddy, I know it must be hard living in a new country even though Canada is great, it's not your home, and the stress of your job, but you know in your heart and soul that picking up that drink isn't the answer you are looking for. .I knew that you two chatted so I thought I better pipe up. He just has decided to pull away abit from the boards because it tends to lead people toward a certain path that not all believe in and at times feels like church. I pulled away for that very reason too. Ginge is okay...just hitting a rough patch but he did mention that he hadn't heard from a few of you in a while and you know who you are .lol
I did it with out AA and sometimes I feel as if I am expected to not make it because I don't go to meetings etc.?? I have always found the wonderful support that I needed each and ever time I have come here so I am grateful to the boards. Just seems like before it was a little more diversified with all different types of stories and now it is just like one big meeting. Hope no ones panties get in a bunch because I say good on ya if it worked for you but it may not be the solution for ALL.
