I just read Phillys post about God and religion... and I was struck by something...
When people that dont believe in God or thank Him or even ackowledge Him in any fashion have something really bad happen to them or to someone they care about it seems that He is always where they seem to end up ... often times the first place they end up in is on there knees asking for help or forgiveness or making deals..... and the same is true of lawyers... every one hates them and tells funny jokes about them (me included and I work for one...lol...) but as soon as your in a fix or a car wreck that isnt your fault...what is the first place your thinking... 'I need a lawyer' and all of a sudden they are your best friend...
Just a thought that occurred to me.... I guess my point is... maybe this... with our circumstances our points of view changes and just like in the program we need to be flexible to new ideas and new ways of doing things.... dont burn the right bridges...
just my thought for the day.. hope this made sense.. it is early yet..

Hiya ter not wishing to cause uproar here hun lol im a maybe believer if ever there is such a thing, its not that im keeping my options open its more because of how has humans we are socalised hun all people are brought into this world as children and know nothing a blank canvas its what is indoctronated into us that we carry around. As a school child i was taught religeon i was made to go to church not that i never liked it just that some of that teaching remains with me weather i believe it or not its kinda of being in confusion all your life one min you believe then the next you dont i could go on for hours about this topic but alas its religeon and politics that cause wars so il peacefuly leave now jackie xxxxx

hope all is well with you.... thanks for your reply but I dont see your point really I am just easily confused...lol.. gettin old I guess... .. I think maybe that you are trying to say that in times of trouble that people revert to what they were taught as children?... (speaking of the God thing...) if that is what you were saying I think that is true but my point was that we seek out what suits our needs often times at the moment in troubled times and then when our needs our fullfiled then we go back to our old way of things...ie making fun of the chirstians as religious finatics and using the HP principles of AA/NA as an exuse not to go there and making fun of lawyers after they have saved our arses or got us some money damages...
that sort of was my point... in addition to just that we need to not dismiss things sooo easily these days esp early in recovery... sometimes we need all the help we can get.. (not from lawyers....lol... but from a HP....) even if we choose to call our HP a tree in the back yard...lol...
