I put this as a response to another post, but it's too important to not share with you all.
"The heart of earthling man may think out his way, but Jehovah himself does the directing of his steps." Psalms 16:9
I get out of this that the Lord will actually put you on the course intended for you.
This appears a bit predeterministic for most Christians, but that's what I'm getting out of this scripture.
Therefore, at least for me, I think I was directed to find this board, and for me to post this scripture, and for you to read it.
I pray it encourages you as much as it did me.

Good morning. How wonderful to know that the God who has revealed himself in revelation (Scripture) is a God who is able to direct us in the ways in which we should go. May we listen to His word today as we fight the addiction battle! Dear friend thank you for sharing this passage.
Thanks ernie! I truly believe that God led me here - he led me every step of the way to find the help that I needed. Once I finally gave up trying to be in control and let him take over amazing things have happened in my life! One of which was finding this place and these people to help me along the way.
