Goos morning beaners! Hope everyone is well and happy on this lovely Saturday.
I have a question for anyone in the health field, or anyone who has had a similar experience........I have a really bad ear infection in both ears. So bad it has REALLY been messing with my equalibrium. I am dizzy and the world is spinning before me. I have been on antibiotics now for 4 days.....4000 mg. of Amoxicillin.......shouldn't I be getting better by now? It is driving me crazy, and greatly interferring with what I need to do, to not be able to walk straight or do all the things I need to do. Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW.......I do have Antivert, and it helps a little, but does not get rid of the swimming in my head.

Hey sweety!!! Have you taken alot of antibotics in your life?If so your body may have a resistence to it.You probaly need something stronger.Though 4000mg sounds like alot amicillian(sp)is one of the ones they give out alot.

That might be what is causing that swimming feeling, wonder you hearing ok, or is everything muffled some, a sign of a snot filled head....oh isn't that a lovely imagine for this morning....
You feel better ok, and call you doctor and see what he thinks, strictly speaking snot wise.

Morning sweet ladies, thanks to you both. I have no other symptoms at all. No congestion, no pain, no nothing. That is what has me so worried. I am thinking there's a tumor in there!! LOL
Love you but you didnt answer me???LOL I know at one point my one ear would get back to back infections.See my ear cannal was damaged(dont ask)so any fluid would collect there.So there were times where the Amox would not work.

I dont know if anyone remembers me talking about this one kitty(i called beauty)she was 8-9mths old & had had a baby taken from her before she came to us.Well this cat was & is a meany.Ive worked with her since I got there(GOD this is hard to say)I could tell she loved me.But she would attack all the other kittys & growel at people except me.I really wanted to adopt her myself beings we had this bond with my 3 kittys It wouldnt be right.Anyways my boss called yesterday...My beauty found a wonderful home.The peopl;e even saw her mean streak & still wanted her.Im so happy my beauty found a GREAT home yet Ill confess...Im sitting here crying,.Im going to miss her so much.I dont know how I wopn her love & trust but I did,.I just hope they care giving her her feather toys she loves & being patient.By the way this is the first kitty we've adopted out that Im happy yet sad over...Just needed to let that out.

Sorry MJ. No, I have not. I rarely get sick. 4000 mg. is a huge dose, but they said it was severe and I needed a lot. I am worried because it is worse today than ever. Doesn't make sense. It's a horrible feeling......vertigo.
You are too much, Kitty Lady. Those kittens must be God's favorites for Him to have sent you to them. They are very lucky. Don't worry about your Beauty. She is where she needs to be, and they will love her. You work with her is done now. Another Beauty will come along, I am sure, and you will fall in love again very soon. LOL You are so special, Sabrina, and I am blessed to call you my friend.

I can remember having an infection and being dizzy for over a month, it took while for the fluid to drain totally out..I hope you feel better soon Carol.

My hubby and I agreed to me cooking one meal on the weekend (for now) this way I don't have to stress as much. No, I haven't said anything to them...I am so non confrontational. I even told him that I am no longer going to get my meal ready a half hour early, just so they could go out...if they want food they'll have to adjust to my times...I have supper cooked every day of the week for 6 and I'm not changing it anymore. I sure wish I had the nerve to stand up to them and tell them enough is enough, but I don't want to hurt my husband's relationship with his brother. (excuses, excuses)

I am the QUEEN of ear infections. My mom is an RN and she has had her share of ear inections as well. I would call your doctor and ask him to call you in Zithromax ( Z-Pac). It is usually taken for 2-5 days. It works pretty good for MOST people. http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/zit1499.htm
I personally like Biaxin ( 500 mgs). It is about 100 out of pocket without insurance. If you have insurance I would ask for that antibiotic. It should really help. It usually works for me in about 24-48 hours.

You can also ask for Antipyrine and benzocaine ( AB-Otic) combination is used in the ear to help relieve the pain, swelling, and congestion of some ear infections. Boy do I understand that Janet...Not wanting to hurt feelings & relationships & such.BUT with that said...I must say...Janet I know you(i like to think I do)& I know that you can & will find a very delicate way to at least talk with her about this.Huny I know you dont want to hurt feelings but really your not happy with whats going on & need(for you)to find someway to have it "meet in the middle"ya know what I mean?

Y'all please pray for my MIL, hubby just got a call that she is having really bad kidney pain (she only has one) and can't move, I'm not sure if they are taking her to the hospital or not, she is so stubborn, it's been hurting since Wednesday...

Thank you so much sweet Rae.....I am going to try to call my dr., but with it being Sat. not expecting much. I have had the Z-pack many times and I swear they don't work on me. My friend, the drug rep., claims they are useless and suggested I never let anyone RX them to me again. LOL

Please get well soon. I agree you need a stronger antibiotic. Even though 4,000 is a high dose, you should be getting relief by now. I'm thinking healing thoughts.
I don't know when I ever been so bored!! LOL I called the dr., they switched me to Biaxin and Pregnisone, and told me to take the Antivert every 8 hours. I hadn't been doing that before. So, hopefully, I will be all better soon.
